Somehow, roller skating rinks never go out of style! This fun indoor activity is great for crazy weather days, perfect for getting the wiggles out, and makes for a great family-friendly night out.

Atlanta, Georgia is home to some amazing roller skating rinks, so if you’re looking for one near you — there’s sure to be one. We’ve gathered up some of our favorite roller skating rinks in the Atlanta metro area for you and your crew to check out.

You can find several Sparkles Family Fun Centers in the metro Atlanta area, including Smyrna, Kennesaw, Hiram, and Gwinnett (in Lawrenceville).

All of these Sparkles locations offer public roller skating sessions for all ages, skate rentals, adults-only skate nights, and more.

In addition to skating, all the locations offer other activities, such as an indoor multi-level, soft and bouncy playground, arcades, laser tag, and more. You’ll also find special events and programs throughout the year.

  • Take a ride on the SkyView Ferris Wheel. Enjoy sweeping views of downtown Atlanta and the surrounding metropolitan area with this ticket for the SkyView Ferris. Ride in comfort with a group of up to 6 in climate-controlled, private gondolas.

Skate Zone in Morrow offers skate rentals, family-friendly skating for all ages, adults-only skate nights, teen nights, and skate lessons!

If you need help with your skating skills, public lessons are offered every Saturday for ages 5 years and up. Arrival time: 11:45am-12:55p. The cost for lessons is $13 (includes rentals).

The Cooler in Alpharetta is best know for its ice skating rinks, but it also has roller skating rinks, as well as youth and adult roller hockey leagues, and public roller skating sessions.

Cascade Skating has public and adults-only skate nights, as well as special nights for teens only. On weekends they offer inflatable fun before the skate sessions.

Their Family Skate Sessions are open to all ages. Visit with your family and experience roller skating to the rhythm of their favorite music mixes, gaming, the best inflatables in town, great food, and good times.

At Metro Fun Center in Atlanta, roller skating is just one of several activities at this 120,000 square foot mega entertainment complex. In addition to the roller rink, there are 38 lanes of bowling, an arcade and laser tag.

For adults there is a billiards room, and a sports bar with an outdoor patio.

Golden Glide is a family skating rink in Decatur that also offers adult and teen skating, as well as an arcade.

Their unique atmosphere includes a 15,000 square foot maple wood skating floor, top-of-the-line digital sound and light system, plasma TV screens, 144″ projection screens, and spacious party rooms.

Visit on a Tuesday for a budget friendly ticket price that includes skate rentals.

This roller skating rink in Woodstock is family owned and operated by the Findley family. In addition to skating for all ages, you’ll also find skate lessons offered here and an arcade.

Work up an appetite? Skate on over to our Roller Cafe to grab ice cold drinks and fresh, warm snacks.


744 Beaver Ruin Rd. | Lilburn

Skate Along USA in Lilburn is the perfect family-friendly skating rink. Family owned and operated, you’ll find Open Skate times for all ages, adults-only skate, a small arcade, a concession area and more. They also have a pro shop, where they sell skates and accessories, and they offer glow items for purchase as well.

5570 Old National Hwy | College Park

SkateTowne in College Park offers Adults Nights, College Nights, Family Nights, Family Matinees, and Teen Nights as well.

They offer fun party packages here too!


5400 Bermuda Road | Stone Mountain

Stone Mountain Skates, formerly All-American Skating Center, offers a safe and fun environment for families and adults alike in the Metro Atlanta Area. 

Their roller rink offers one the largest skate floors in the Metro Atlanta area, along with colorful lights and music from their DJs.  Anyone can take to the floor of the main rink during open-skate sessions, where they welcome and encourage younger and new skaters to practice. Their newly added late-night adult only skate sessions offer a different experience as well. 

You’ll also find a Pro Shop here, as well as special events throughout the year.


Kids Skate Free is a program where kids get a free pass to roller skate at a local roller rink (skates are extra). Participants must register with their local rink and then receive emails with passes.

Roller Skating Atlanta rinks that currently honor the program include: Sparkles Kennesaw, Sparkles Smyrna, Sparkles Hiram, Sparkles Gwinnett, and Skate Zone in Morrow.

For a list of other rinks, visit the Kids Skate Free website. Once you find your local rink, simply click on the green “Register for This Skating Center” banner.

Once you have filled out the form, you will receive an email asking you to verify your email address. Once you have done that you will a registered member of Kids Skate Free. The first set of passes is emailed the Sunday following your registration.

Note that each skating center selects their own age requirements; so be sure to consult the center where you want to secure a pass to see their rules.
