BUFORD HIGHWAY FARMERS MARKET

I visited the Buford Highway Farmer’s Market in Doraville during a recent travel conference. This International Farmers Market has foods from pretty much any country you can imagine. We tasted around the world in a single afternoon – pastries from Germany, candies from Mexico, fruits from Asia. It’s all here.

They also had unique gifts. I have a plan to return and get a bonsai tree for my living room. This indoor farmer’s market is open year-round.

YOUR DEKALB FARMERS MARKET

The DeKalb Farmer’s Market in Decatur is one of the most well-known in Atlanta. This market also has an International Farmer’s Market flair with produce and food items available from around the world. Located at the intersection of East Ponce De Leon Ave. and Laredo Drive, you’ll find all types of things here — from seafood and meats to pastry and coffee shops.

The DeKalb Farmer’s Market started in 1977 and is still run by founder Robert Blazer and his family. This is also an indoor farmer’s market that is open year-round.

PULLMAN YARDS CHEFS MARKETS

The monthly ethnic food market events at Pullman Yards in Atlanta – Asian Night Market and Mercado de la Noche – were such a success that they’ve planned regular events all year in 2024.

The Pullman Yards Chef’s Market series happens Fridays 6pm – 11pm and Saturdays 4pm – 10pm. The weekly Chef’s Markets feature various, independent vendors offering a host of chef-prepared dishes, arts & crafts, produce and other take-home ingredients.

Additionally, their Asian Night Market takes place every 4th Friday from 6pm – 11pm. The Asian Night Market features Asian-American Pacific Islander food vendors, artists and organizations that highlight the local Asian community.

The Chefs Markets are FREE to attend.

REYNOLDSTOWN FARMERS MARKET

Reynoldstown’s weekly farmers market features music, local produce, eggs & dairy, meat, bread, prepared foods, ready-to-eat food vendors and non-food items. Located in the shady parking lot in front of Lang Carson Community Center, the market is just 100 yards off the BeltLine. They offer a festive atmosphere where everyone is welcome!

The market is held on Sundays from Noon-3pm at the Lang Carson Recreation Center at 100 Flat Shoals Ave SE. This year the market will be held from April 14 – June 30, 2024 (not open Memorial Day weekend).

DECATUR FARMERS MARKET

The Decatur Farmer’s Market is an outdoor community market that is held in the Pecan Grove of the First Baptist Church in Decatur. The Decatur Farmer’s Market is held on Wednesdays.

This year, their season will run from March 27 – Nov. 20, 2024.

The Decatur Farmer’s Market is part of the Community Farmer’s Markets group.

EAST ATLANTA VILLAGE FARMERS MARKET

The East Atlanta Village Farmer’s Market is one of the oldest outdoor farmer’s markets in Atlanta. In addition to locally grown food, you can also find homemade breads, prepared meals, and artisan goods like jewelry or soaps. They also have cooking demonstration, and an on-site Edible Learning Garden with education and children’s activities.

This market is located across from the Midway Pub and is part of the Community Farmer’s Markets. It’s held on Thursdays from 4-8pm. This year’s dates are March 28 through Nov. 14, 2024

GRANT PARK FARMERS MARKET

The Grant Park Farmers Market has been voted Best Farmers Market in Creative Loafing and Atlanta Magazine. Weekly free celebrity chef demonstrations at market feature the top chefs in the south including Hugh Acheson, Kevin Gillespie, Steven Satterfield, Virginia Willis and many more.

Grant Park Sunday Market is held each Sunday across the street from the Beacon ATL/Eventide Brewing, rain or shine, year-round.

PONCE CITY FARMERS MARKET

This outdoor farmer’s market is located along the Atlanta Beltline, just outside of Ponce City Market.  Ponce City Farmers Market offers fresh fruits and veggies, artisan products, handmade crafts, goods for the home and body, and more from an average of 30 rotating vendors per week.

Throughout the season, the market will also feature special events, arts and crafts and visits from goats.

FRESH MARTA MARKET

The Fresh MARTA Markets are part of the Community Farmer’s Market group and take place at MARTA stations around the city on different days. You can find the schedule and locations here.

You’ll find fresh produce from local and regional farmers at these pop up markets.

BROOKHAVEN FARMERS MARKET

The Brookhaven Farmer’s Market is an outdoor farmer’s market on Fernwood Circle that is open April through November on Saturdays from 9am – Noon. You’ll find artisanal foods, baked goods, produce, meats, desserts, crafts, and so much more.

You’ll also find live music on certain days. The market is open rain or shine.

MORNINGSIDE FARMERS’ MARKET

All the produce at the Morningside Farmers’ Market must be certified organic. In addition to food, you can also find flowers and artisan crafts.

This family-friendly outdoor farmer’s market is open year-round on Saturday mornings from 8am-11:30am at Morningside Presbyterian Church.

FREEDOM FARMERS MARKET AT THE CARTER CENTER

Freedom Farmers Market is open year-round on Saturdays from 8:30am-Noon at the Carter Center (stop in to tour this great museum too) along the Freedom Bike Trail.

You’ll find fresh produce, grass fed meats, dairy including cheeses, yogurt, milk, farm fresh eggs, handmade baked goods and preserves, coffee and more. From March to December, you’ll also find live music, a kid’s tent, and local chefs.

PEACHTREE ROAD FARMERS MARKET

The Peachtree Road Farmers Market is open March through December on Saturdays. You’ll find it at The Cathedral of St. Philip on Peachtree Road.

This year, the market will be available March 2-December 14, 2024, from 8:30am to Noon.

I still remember the Heavenly pound cake I tasted here. It was several years ago and was THAT memorable.

GREEN MARKET AT PIEDMONT PARK

The Piedmont Park Conservancy’s Green Market was voted one of the top five farmer’s markets in Atlanta by Access Atlanta. Green Market encourages sustainable communities in the most basic way – by providing shoppers with direct access to local farmers and small businesses.

This market is held on Saturdays in Piedmont Park from March through December. From April to November they also have chef demonstrations, live music, and kids activities. This year’s season ends December 7, 2024.

THE MUNICIPAL MARKET IN SWEET AUBURN (FORMERLY CURB MARKET)

The Municipal Market in Sweet Auburn is a historic indoor market open Mondays-Saturdays from 8am-5pm throughout the year.

In addition to butcher meats, and fresh produce, the Sweet Auburn Market has popular food vendors like Earl of Sandwich and Tilapia Express.

MARKETS NORTH OF TOWN

MARIETTA SQUARE FARMER MARKET (MARIETTA)

Come to the Marietta Square Farmers Market on Saturday mornings at the Marietta Square year-round for an outdoor farmer’s market from 9am-Noon.

You’ll find fresh fruits and vegetables, and things like flowers, local honey, and herbal soaps too.

SANDY SPRINGS FARMERS MARKET (SANDY SPRINGS0

The Sandy Springs Farmers Market is held mid-April through November on Saturday mornings 8:30am until Noon at City Springs in Sandy Springs. This year their season will run from April 20 through November 23, 2024.

There is live entertainment and games for the kids. The first two hours of parking in the parking deck are free!

DOWNTOWN ALPHARETTA FARMERS MARKET

Find farmers with fruits and vegetables, gardeners with fresh flowers and plants, and makers of all sorts of edible home goods from delicious desserts to local raw honey and homemade sauces and jellies at the Downtown Alpharetta Farmers Market.

The Downtown Alpharetta Farmers Market is open on Saturdays from April – November from 8:30am-12:30pm at the Alpharetta Town Green area at City Center in front of City Hall on North and South Broad Streets.

LILBURN FARMERS MARKET

The Lilburn Farmers Market is open every Friday night from 4-7pm from May until August 30, 2024. The market is on the campus of Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church.

In addition to food vendors, you’ll find music, kids’ activities, a Little Free Library, and food trucks.

FARMERS MARKETS SOUTH OR WEST OF TOWN

STATE FARMERS MARKET (FOREST PARK)

The Atlanta State Farmers Market in Forest Park is one of the largest of its kind in the world. It encompasses 150 acres and includes a garden center and stalls for produce. We come here every year to get our Christmas tree, and always end up getting a few other things too.

Since it is located right off I-75, this is always a great place to stop on your travels. This farmers market is open 24/7!

DOWNTOWN NEWNAN MARKET DAYS (NEWNAN)

Monthly Market Days are held from March through December on the first Saturday of every month, around the courthouse square in downtown Newnan, from 10am – 2pm.

Featuring more than 50 unique booths with new vendors and one-of-a-kind items, visitors to the market can find locally grown produce, honey, jams and jellies, salsa, pottery and more. In addition, local musicians play acoustic music on the courthouse lawn, making it a lively event.

SENOIA FARMERS MARKET

Located right off Senoia’s Main Street, the Senoia Farmers Market is not only a place to peruse products from fresh food vendors, exciting artisans and bakers, but it is also the social event of the week.

Visitors can enjoy a coffee, mimosa or Bloody Mary while shopping, listening to live music and mingling with the locals.

Open Saturdays from April-December.

180 DEGREE FARM (SHARPSBURG)

180 Degree Farm has an inspiring backstory in addition to fresh produce. Started by the Tyson family after their son’s cancer diagnosis, the family now helps those battling cancer by providing nutrient dense foods and classes on nutrition.

Their on-farm market is open to the public every Tuesday & Saturday (all year), from 9:30 am until 1 pm. Visitors can stop by and pick up organically raised seasonal fruits, vegetables and more.

COUNTRY GARDENS FAMILY FARM (NEWNAN)

Visit Country Garden Farms’ Farm Market in Newnan every Thursday 1pm – 4pm, and Friday and Saturday from 9am – 4pm. You’ll find everything from dairy and eggs to coffee and herbal teas.

In addition to the market, visitors can take classes on how to grow, cook and preserve their own food.

WHITLEY FARMS (SHARPSBURG)

Whitley Farms is a family-owned, u-pick farm that is the perfect place to spend a warm Saturday.

Not only can visitors shop for fun items such as cobblers and homemade dog treats, but they can also pick their own strawberries and visit Curly the Bull and Curly Jr. and bring produce such as carrots and tomatoes to feed them. Check their Facebook for updates.

PEACHTREE CITY FARMERS MARKET

Visit the outdoor Peachtree City Market year-round on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 9am-1pm.

Saturday’s market brings approximately 60 vendors offering a variety of fresh produce, poultry, beef and pork, bread, sweet treats, and more. You’ll also find plenty of great foodie gifts here, along with live music.

The market is held in the Aberdeen Village Shopping Center in Peachtree City and is open rain or shine.

SERENBE FARMERS MARKET (CHATTAHOOCHEE HILLS)

The Serenbe Farmers Market is held on Saturdays from April to October from 9am – 1pm in Grange.

Vendors vary weekly, but cover a broad swath of sustainable food and local crafts. Stay after the market and take a tour of the Serenbe Farm.

MARKET DAYS ON BROADWAY (COLUMBUS)

Visit beautiful downtown Columbus on Saturday mornings for Market Days on Broadway to visit with more than 200 local vendors of locally grown foods and crafts. The market can be found April-November from 9am-Noon on the 1200, 1100, & 1000 blocks of Broadway.

Visitors can expect to find fresh and organic produce, home goods, jewelry, unique crafts, and delicious baked goods.

2024 Market Days Season will be April 6th – November 30th.

FARMVIEW MARKET (MADISON)

Farmview Market is a permanent fresh market with several sections — a grocery that includes lots of locally grown items, a butcher, bakery, and farm-to-table quick service restaurant. (Three words for you – smoked.chicken.salad.)

In addition, from April – October there is a farmer’s market, where all items in the market must be made by the sellers.
