Turquoise Orange Beach AL: This premier upscale beachfront resort offering luxury vacation rental condos & amenities is a gleaming 20-story luxury resort right on the fluffy white sand beaches of the gulf coast. Usually, I prefer a beach house to a high-rise because I wouldn’t say I like waiting for the elevator.
However, I’m changing my tune after spending three nights at Turquoise Place. Here’s why I’ll return, and why you need to be thoughtful when booking your condo at Turquoise Place – not all vacation rentals are the same.

Turquoise Place rentals soar above the pristine beaches of the Gulf of Mexico with it’s 24 and 30 story high towers, Gulf-front balconies, and all of the amenities of a luxury hotel. These 1, 2, and 3 bedroom condos are the perfect place to stay for a beautiful Orange Beach, Alabama vacation!
WHY RENT A COMDO AT TURQUOISE ORANGE BEACH AL
TURQUOISE PLACE BY SPECTRUM RESORTS
Turquoise Place is a large condo and several different rental companies service the building. However, not all rentals are equal. Although the units are similar, the special extras are all Spectrum. Here are a few of our favorites.
CLEAN BED GUARANTEE
You know hotels launder the sheets, but ever wonder when was the last time they cleaned the duvet? Most management companies do it twice a year, but Spectrum Resorts condos are cleaned for each guest. That means you not only have fresh sheets, but a fresh duvet for your stay.
PRIVATE CONCIERGE LOUNGE
This is probably my favorite extra. Spectrum guests have access to a private concierge level on the 5th floor. I love this for many reasons including:
BREAKFAST
Each morning enjoy a continental breakfast that includes coffee, tea and juices, as well as muffins, cereal and make your own waffles; in the afternoon, drop in for delicious cookies.
GAMES
Throughout the day, kids (and adults) are welcome to stop in the 5th-floor lounge to play ping-pong, shuffleboard, or video games on the three gaming systems. There are also board games available. An attendant is always there to ensure everything gets in order.
FREEDOM
It’s hard to quantify freedom, but having this lounge available in the building gives older kids the freedom to explore and have a fun destination they can visit without mom and dad glued to their side the entire time. It makes vacations a lot more fun for kids and adults.
BEACH TOWELS
I hate packing for a trip. Truly hate it. And with five people we never have enough space in the trunk, so bringing tons of bulky beach towels takes up a lot of space. We didn’t need any at the Spectrum resort. They had six large fluffy beach towels waiting for us in the condo to use during our stay.
ACTIVITIES
Each day there are a host of activities for kids and adults. I meant to try the morning yoga but opted to get my exercise walking to City Donut instead. Don’t judge. Those apple fritters are worth it.
UNLIMITED DVDS
Rainy day? No problem. Grab a movie from the kiosk in the lobby. It’s free.
MID-STAY CLEANS
Unfortunately, our beach vacation was only four days long, but if you are staying the week, Spectrum Resorts offers mid-week maid service. They’ll freshen things up, and give you new towels.
ON-SITE STAFF
I overheard a group talking in the elevator about their Jacuzzi being broken (yes there are Jacuzzis on every deck!!). The Spectrum Resort condos check their condo Jacuzzis weekly. Our Jacuzzi was in perfect working order. Spectrum is the only on-site rental property, so if there are maintenance issues, with your Jacuzzi or anything else, there is someone on-site to fix it.
WHAT ELSE CAN YOU EXPECT FROM TURQUOISE PLACE
LARGE ROOMS
Holy Cow! These gulf front condos are HUGE. We had a three bedroom. The master bathroom/closet alone was as big as my son’s room at home with a Jacuzzi hot tub that could double as an indoor pool for a preschooler. In fact, the closet would make a great nursery area for those with babies, or young ones. Pop-up a pack-n-play or some air mattresses and bam, the kids have their own private room. These condos are made for a crowd, so bring extra family or friends.
A DREAM DECK
The deck is my favorite part of the entire condo. Like everything else, it is huge. Each condo deck includes a private hot tub and an outdoor grill because grilling is much more fun than cooking in the full kitchen. Our deck also included a dining table for eight, and there was still plenty of room to move around. This is the biggest deck I’ve ever seen in a condo.
COOKING IN
Whether you grill or cook in the kitchen, Spectrum Resorts can have your groceries delivered and stocked before you arrive, or Publix and Walmart are less than a mile away. For the true chef-inspired, locally sourced meal, visit Blalock Seafood for fish and Whiskey Ridge for beef, and get fresh vegetables from the farmer’s market at The Wharf.
THE LAZY RIVER
Turquoise Place has five salt-water indoor and outdoor pools, including a 1.5 feet deep kiddie pool and a spacious indoor pool (perfect on a rainy day or if you need to get out of the sun). Ok, so a pool is not much different than other condos, but Turquoise Place has a lazy river too! And if you think it’s just for the kids, you are wrong. I saw more adults chilling on the river than kids.
PLAYGROUND AND GAMES
My kids are too old for the playground next to the lazy river, but we spent a fun evening playing cornhole on the pool deck. While there, a man brought his two kids down to ‘play’ checkers and chess on the giant sets. The kids used the checkers more like blocks, but whatever works. Bonus, all the games are undercover, so you can get out of the sun and play even in the daytime.
PERIDODO BEACH SERVICE
Man, these guys worked! Each day it rained or threatened to rain several times. They were constantly putting up and taking down umbrellas, all with a smile. In addition they rent kayaks, paddleboards, or you can visit them on the bay for wave runners or charters.
