Looking for fun things to do in Atlanta for teens? Sometimes it can be difficult to please the whole family that have kids from toddler to teen age. We have compiled a list of things that even teens will think are cool enough to try.
Here are some of our favorite things to do in Atlanta, Georgia that teens will love.
AMUSEMENT AND WATER PARKS
SIX FLAGS
Everybody loves Six Flags. Just get on a rollercoaster and scream out every frustration and let go of all your problems! In 2023, Six Flags Over Georgia kicks off its 56th anniversary!
Try our tips for beating the lines because we know your thrill-seeking teens will want to ride roller coasters like, the Batman, the Goliath, and take the ultimate flight on the Superman!
Beginning Memorial Day Weekend, the park’s Hurricane Harbor will be open 7-days a week for fun! And get ready to ride the Tsunami Surge where four riders will barrel down an enclosed five-story drop that includes a 125-foot-long whirlpool bowl, spinning you round and round at 360 degrees.
WHITE WATER
We love Six Flags White Water, and it’s definitely one of the coolest places to hang out and beat the summer heat. If you go more than a couple of times per year you may want to consider a season pass and enjoy rides like the Tornado or the Dive Bomber all summer long.
MUSEUMS AND MORE TO AMUSE
FERNBANK MUSEUM
Fernbank makes science, nature and history fun. Travel around the world and back in time as you discover dinosaurs, live animals, amazing places, ancient fossils, prehistoric cultures and new science discoveries.
Throughout the year, new exhibits and experiences offer more to explore. Plus there are events that are just right for young adults and teens.
ZOO ATLANTA
I love animals so this is just an awesome place for me personally. Also if you just want to walk in nature and enjoy a cool day, this is the place to do it.
What sets this zoo apart from the other zoos that are close by? Zoo Atlanta is one of only three zoos in the U.S. housing giant pandas. The pandas are a favorite among visitors, but the zoo also boasts more than 1,000 animals from more than 200 species.
GEORGIA AQUARIUM
This is another great place to spend the day with your friends. The Georgia Aquarium houses more than 11 million gallons of fresh and marine water, and it’s home to more than 100,000 animals — including four whale sharks, the largest fish on the planet!
The aquarium consistently ranks as the best attraction in Georgia! And there are so many reasons why. Make plans with your friends to sign-up for the Dolphin and Sea Lion Shows and the 4D Theatre Experience. It’s simple, just scan the attraction’s QR code and choose a time.
Cool tip: Georgia residents receive FREE admission on their birthday!
WORLD OF COCA-COLA
Right across from the aquarium you’ll find the World of Coca-Cola. If you’re a Coca-Cola fan, or just curious about the process of making this Georgia-made product, you won’t be disappointed.
