CATCH A GAME AT THE ROGER DEAN CHEVROLET STADIUM

America’s favorite pastime is a hit in Jupiter! Home to the Florida State League, the Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium is considered one of the nicest minor league stadiums in the country. The Miami Marlins and St. Louis Cardinals play their spring training games here, so you can catch some of the biggest names in baseball in action.

As for minor league games, the Jupiter Hammerheads and Palm Beach Cardinals always play at the stadium, with a packed schedule of games throughout the year. The atmosphere is fun and relaxed, making it a great place to unwind with friends and family. The mascots are especially entertaining, so don’t forget to bring your camera!

You’ll also find plenty of concession stands for food and drinks for refueling. Everything from hot dogs and nachos to craft beer and tacos is available at the stadium.

EXPLORE THE JUPITER INLET LIGHTHOUSE AND MUSEUM

Jupiter’s trademark lighthouse is one of its most recognizable landmarks. The Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse and Museum is a historical monument, built in 1860, that has been restored and preserved to help keep visitors entertained. The lighthouse is operated by the Loxahatchee River Historical Society, a non-profit organization that protects, preserves, and promotes all things related to local history.

You’ll learn all about the lighthouse’s significance and the area’s history. Both Native Americans and early settlers used Jupiter as a base for trade and fishing, making it an important hub of commerce in South Florida. In fact, archeological evidence suggests that human life in the area dates back to 3,000 BC!

However, the lighthouse isn’t just a simple museum. After touring this beautiful structure, you can also participate in various outdoor activities along the Jupiter Inlet. The Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse Outstanding Natural Area (ONA) is a 120-acre preserve with hiking trails and an observation deck for boat-watching.

VISIT JUPITER BEACH – WITH CARE

Jupiter’s beaches are some of the most beautiful in Florida. Miles of shoreline, warm weather, and sweeping ocean views make this town a perfect place to relax and unwind. In addition, they are among the busiest loggerhead sea turtle nesting sites in the world. So if you visit during nesting season (April to September), keep an eye out for these majestic creatures.

That being said, respecting the local wildlife when visiting Jupiter’s beaches is essential. Keep an eye for signs about sea turtle protection, and avoid stepping on their nests or disturbing them in any way. You can also help by picking up your trash and avoiding littering.

Besides sea turtles, you’ll also find plenty of other activities on Jupiter’s beaches. Swimming, sunbathing, surfing, and kayaking are all popular pastimes here. Or you can simply sit back, relax, and enjoy the beautiful views.

SEE THE SEA TURTLES UP CLOSE AT LOGGERHEAD MARINELIFE CENTER

Those who don’t want to risk disturbing sea turtle nesting sites can visit the Loggerhead Marinelife Center instead. It’s a research, rehabilitation, and education facility focused on protecting sea turtles in Florida. Here you’ll find injured or sick turtles that need care and protection from further harm. Note that if you find a sea turtle in need, you can contact the center for help.

At the Marinelife Center, you’ll also have a chance to learn more about these fascinating creatures. The non-profit offers family-friendly interactive exhibits and educational programs where you can learn about sea turtles and their habitats. A virtual reality rescue, puppet show, and fishing program are just some of the fun activities you’ll find here.

If you’d rather go out in the field, the center also offers eco-tours and beach walks at the local nesting sites.

TALK TO THE ANIMALS AT BUSCH WILDLIFE SANCTUARY

Another non-profit organization worth checking out is the Busch Wildlife Sanctuary. The sanctuary is dedicated to helping injured, orphaned, and diseased animals in Palm Beach County. You’ll find all kinds of creatures ranging from squirrels to alligators, so be prepared for anything!

At Busch Wildlife Sanctuary, visitors can get up close and personal with exotic animals while learning about them. Tour guides are always happy to answer questions about the residents, so this is a great place for animal lovers and curious kids. You can even participate in conservation programs and volunteer opportunities to help with the animals’ day-to-day care.

You might also consider attending one of their unique fundraisers, like Wine in the Wild. At this annual event, you can walk the illuminated paths of the sanctuary and sample fine drinks and food in a natural setting.

Blue Heron Bridge, or Phil Foster Park, is a famous Jupiter spot for snorkeling and scuba diving. It was named the best dive site in the world by Sport Diver magazine, and it’s easy to see why when you arrive. A rich ecosystem, recognized as an underwater wildlife preserve, awaits under the waves.

Over 100 species of fish are present at Blue Heron Bridge, including a wide variety of tropical species. You may see the iconic Atlantic long-arm octopus, which has arms seven times longer than its body. The shipwrecks of Blue Heron Bridge are also fascinating to explore.

Discover the area on your own or join a guided tour to explore the best parts. The tours aren’t necessary, but they can be the best way to learn more about the area. Plus, you won’t have to bring any snorkeling equipment, as the tours include everything you need.

TAKE THE KIDS TO THE DUBOIS PARK LAGOON

Fancy some family time? Dubois Park is where you want to be. This hidden gem is home to the lagoon, which has been a gathering spot for locals for decades. It’s a wide open space with plenty of room for kids to play and explore. A playground with slides and other play equipment is available here.

The shallow water makes it safe for kids, but the  lagoon itself is a large attraction for everyone. A jetty sticks out into the water, making for a perfect place to sit and watch the sunset. There’s also an abundance of wildlife in the area, including herons, dolphins, and manatees.

DINE AT THE WOODS JUPITER

Remember when we mentioned that celebrities love Jupiter? Well, one of the top spots for eating in town is The Woods Jupiter. Renowned golfer Tiger Woods’ flagship restaurant is known for its high-quality cuisine and incredible wine list. It’s an upscale sports bar with a casual vibe that works for any occasion.

Dine like Tiger at this top destination for foodies in Jupiter. Whether you’re looking for a romantic dinner, a fun night out with friends, or somewhere to take the whole family, The Woods Jupiter will do the trick. You can even buy cigars, although you’ll have to smoke them outside.

RIDE ALONG JUPITER RIVERWALK

One of the most popular outdoor spaces in Jupiter is the Riverwalk. Featuring 2.5 scenic miles of multi use trails, it’s a wonderful place to explore by bike or on foot. The Riverwalk takes you through marinas, commercial spots, environmentally protected areas, and more.

With plenty of spots to stop and relax along the way, it’s easy to spend an entire day on the Riverwalk. KAYAK FROM LOXAHATCHEE RIVER BATTLEFIELD PARK

If you’ve been elsewhere in Florida, you know it’s not all sandy beaches and palm trees. Get a taste of the swampy side of the state at Loxahatchee River Battlefield Park. The park also commemorates the last battle of the Seminole war in 1838. You can rent kayaks or bring your own and paddle through the lush, green wetlands.

The river is very calm, making it ideal for kayaking. If you have your own, you can launch from the boat ramp found near the Battlefield Park entrance. Along the way to Jonathan Dickinson State Park, you might see an alligator sunning itself on a log or a deer hiding in the woods.

EXPLORE JONATHAN DICKINSON STATE PARK

Once you reach Jonathan Dickinson State Park, you’ll find plenty more to do. Mind you; this kayak trip will have taken you from Palm Beach County all the way to Martin County, so make sure you’re up for a full-day adventure. Martin County is a “super hidden” vacation spot, which you can read all about in our dedicated blog posts.

It’s such a beautiful, peaceful place that we used to visit every spring with our family. The nature trails are a sight to behold, and there are plenty of spots to relax by the river. You can even camp overnight to make it an all-weekend adventure.

GRAB A MOMENT OF PEACE AT BLOWING ROCKS PRESERVE

We stay in Martin County for the last stop on our list, Blowing Rocks Preserve. The natural area gets its name from the limestone outcroppings, which are literally “explosive.” When the ocean waves crash against these rocks, they can blow up to 50 feet in the air. It’s a fantastic sight that you have to see to believe.

The sheer force of the Atlantic Ocean, when it hits these rocks, creates plumes of salt water. It provides a humbling moment of peace and solitude as you watch the waves and listen to the sounds of nature. You’ll find this majestic preserve in Hobe Sound, which is halfway between Jonathan Dickinson State Park and the rest of our Jupiter highlights.
