Apocalyptic Escape the Room Venues in Atlanta You Must Try

Can you escape the room? Atlanta has several different companies and escape room themes to choose from. It’s not as easy as you might think to get out, especially under the circumstances.

Escape Rooms are a great alternative if you don’t like ghoulish haunted houses with people jumping out at you. Instead test your wits against the clock and get your heart pumping. This list of escape rooms all have a creepy bent.

Not into the creepy? Contact your favorite escape the room to see what other themes they have available, I’m sure you can find one that suits you. I’ve even seen an 80s themed room, perfect for you husband.

What is an Escape the Room Game?

Escape room games are basically a mystery. In the escape room experience, you are locked in a room with a team of players. You must find clues inside the room to help you solve the mystery, but to get to the clues, you’ll first have to solve puzzles, crack codes and really test your brain. You have 60 minutes to escape.

It’s a good time, great for team building, and not as easy as you might think. What surprised me most was that it wasn’t just one room, but a series of rooms, so just as you think you’ve won, you have more clues to solve.

There are several escape the room Atlanta based companies. Each one has at least two (or more) different rooms with different themes. Below are the eerie ones, but each company also has other rooms too, so if you don’t like the one explained below, check out the site for more.

The Creepiest Escape the Room Rooms

Below are 10 escape room companies with a scenario that sounded fun for Halloween or anytime you’d like something a little post apocalyptic. If you’d like to suggestion one, please do in the comments.

Escape Woods

The Cabin
628 Sleepy Hollow Road | Powder Springs | 770-880-8846

At Escape Woods, you and your team will have one hour to escape an abandoned cabin buried deep in the woods before the time runs out. This is not just any cabin… the owner of the cabin has been studying serial killers his whole miserable life and he wants to make you his first victims. To escape before he gets home you will need to explore his cabin, solve clues, and decipher his locks. This game is designed for adults only. Warning this will not be for the faint of heart.

BreakOut Atlanta

The Kidnapping
3867 Roswell Rd NE, Ste 200 | Atlanta | 404-800-9297
6375 Spalding Dr, Ste H | Peachtree Corners | 404-620-2477

At BreakOut Atlanta, the kidnapping begins with you and your fellow captives waking up handcuffed and blindfolded in a strange room. With nothing but collective brainpower, hidden clues and 60 minutes on your side, you have to free yourselves before the kidnapper returns. A heart-pumping thriller from start to finish, you can expect a rush of non-stop fun. We were too chicken to try the Kidnapping. (Ok, I was too chicken because I didn’t want to be handcuffed) but we did try the Casino Royale game. In the end, we just missed getting out, but it was a fun activity for the entire family (13 – 50 years-old) could to do together.

Mastermind Escape the Room

OutBreak: Find the Cure
297 Dividend Dr. | Peachtree City | 404-793-1541

At Mastermind Escape the Room, the lab you are working in at the CDC has been locked down because a deadly virus has been released into the ventilation system. You must find a cure before you can escape from the room. Everything you need is in the lab, but you must work quickly, you only have 60 minutes before it kills you. I did this one as part of a press trip and loved it. It might be a little freaky for younger kids, but not too bad and it was challenging, interesting and it wasn’t too linear – I felt like our group could work on different clues at the same time.

Ultimate Escape Game

Galleria 75 | 3200 Cobb Galleria Parkway, Suite 150 | Atlanta | 770-824-9164

At the Ultimate Escape Game, explore the real life inner workings of the human mind, in a 1950’s mental hospital, to discover the truth behind an amnesic patient’s mysterious past in this chilling room escape thriller. Not recommended for kids under 14 or novice players.
