If you’re the kind of person who refreshes the Sandy Springs Performing Arts Center site like it’s your morning Wordle, go ahead and log in now—four new shows just dropped at Byers Theatre, and they’re a delightfully weird mix of highbrow, lowbrow, and Swiftie-core.

Here’s what’s new (and what I’m eyeing for my own calendar):
🐶 Dog Man: The Musical (Oct 11–12)
Dav Pilkey’s chaotic half-dog, half-cop creation is heading to the stage, and I’m not even pretending it’s just for the kids.
It’s a goofy, heartfelt adventure where crime gets fought and furniture gets chewed—pretty on-brand if you’ve got a second grader or a golden retriever. Recommended for ages 6 and up, but let’s be honest: it’s probably cathartic for exhausted grownups, too.
🎶 Blank Space: The Unofficial Taylor Swift Tribute (Nov 2)
No Ticketmaster trauma. No $1,200 seats behind a pole. Just a glitter-drenched Eras Tour recreation, outfit by outfit, song by song.
It’s a tribute show, yes—but it’s also a safe space for that one friend who hasn’t stopped making friendship bracelets since March. If you missed the real tour (or just want to scream-sing “Cruel Summer” again in public), this is your shot.
🎸 Los Lonely Boys (Nov 20)
Remember “Heaven”? That mid-2000s track that still plays in your head every time you walk into a margarita bar? Los Lonely Boys are back.
Henry, Jojo, and Ringo Garza mix blues, rock, and their Tex-Mex roots into what they call “Texican rock & roll”—and it’s genuinely joyful. Think: soaring guitar solos, harmonies that sound like they’ve been aging in oak barrels, and the kind of show where you leave in a better mood than you came in with.
🎼 New Year’s Eve with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra (Dec 31)
If your ideal NYE leans more champagne flute than solo cup, this is for you. The ASO will be playing a lineup of classical favorites (details TBA), followed by a fancy little party in the Studio Theatre to toast the new year.
Bring someone you like. Wear something that sparkles. Then brag about having actual plans for December 31—months in advance.
How to Grab Tickets
They’re available now, and if you’ve ever cursed yourself for waiting too long, now’s the time to pounce. Log into your SandySpringsPAC.com account and claim those seats before someone else’s dog-loving, Swift-obsessed, blues-rock-appreciating aunt beats you to it.
Personally? I’m thinking Dog Man with the boys… and Los Lonely Boys with my tequila-drinking bestie. And I will absolutely be yelling the bridge of “All Too Well” on Nov 2 like it’s a religious experience.
