The Ridge Outdoor Resort: FAQs about Sevierville’s Hidden Gem

Looking for luxury, camping, and glamping in the Smoky Mountains?

If you’re visiting Sevierville, we highly recommend making The Ridge Outdoor Resort your home base. RV spots, tiny houses, and luxury glamping tents will make you feel welcome. And it’s right outside of tons of Tennessee fun, including only three miles from Dollywood.

We recently stayed here in a glamping tent and fell head-over-heels in love with The Ridge. Below you’ll find the top three things we loved about The Ridge, and then answers to questions you sent us on social media.

3 REASONS WE’LL BE BACK TO THE RIDGE OUTDOOR RESORT

THE RIDGE OUTDOOR RESORT: FAQ'S ABOUT SEVIERVILLE'S HIDDEN GEM

1. LUXURIOUS GLAMPING TENTS

Yes, this is also an RV Resort – a great place to park your rig. There are also tiny home rentals for parties of two…but we are hooked on the safari glamping tents!

Let’s start with the two most luxurious features of all – temperature control and standard toilets!

All of the tents include a heating and cooling unit. Interestingly, when we visited we had to use both. It was that transitional time of year, so we used the heater at night and the air conditioning during the day…and both worked really well.

And yes, there is a bathroom inside the tent. Not a compost toilet or a toilet “just down the path” but a real, flushing toilet right there in the tent. There is also a sink and shower, both with hot water and luxurious towels that make you forget you’re camping.

Each tent includes 2 bedrooms. Some tents have another full sized bed in the second bedroom, while other tents have two bunkbeds (4 sleeping spaces).

Another luxury? A kitchen! Enjoy a stove with two eyes, a sink, a microwave, and a fridge (with freezer). All the kitchen utilities you might need to cook the perfect meal are also there. And if you feel like whipping up a steak or some burgers, there is a charcoal grill just outside the tent (BYO charcoal).

At night, you can sit on the porch and warm up next to the gas firepit…perch under the stringing lights and enjoy the evening with the kids. Or do what we did and turn off the lights to catch a million stars shining just for you.

2. UNBELIEVABLE AMENITIES

If there were only glamping tents available that would be enough…but there is so much more.

Because it was the tip of the season when we visited, we relaxed in the heated saltwater pool in the evenings. It did get a little chilly as the sun began to set, but no worries. We just hopped over to the hot tub!

(PS. It’s a zero entry pool, making it easy for little-bits or grandparents who also like to swim.)

There is also a fitness center; a kids room with ping pong, coloring activities, lounging areas, etc; a playground for the kids; and basketball and pickleball courts.

You can also rent golf carts here to get around, or take Fido to the Bark Park and let him work off some energy. Jeep rentals are also available.

3. LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION

While it felt like we were “in the middle of nowhere,” – we were actually just less than 5 minutes from Downtown Sevierville! Easy access to all the fun and outstanding restaurants meant we enjoyed the best of both worlds.

This upscale RV resort/Glamping resort is also about 3 miles from Dollywood and Pigeon Forge – and truly in the heart of the Smoky Mountains.

YOUR QUESTIONS ANSWERED

The Ridge Outdoor Resort: FAQs about Sevierville’s Hidden Gem

IT’S EXPENSIVE, RIGHT?

It seems like it should be, doesn’t it?? But The Ridge is very affordable! At the time of this writing (updated July 2024), RV sites start at $88, tiny home cabins start at $189, and safari tents start at $199. Always be sure to check with The Ridge first for the most updated pricing.

CAN WE BRING OUR RV?

YES! When The Ridge first opened, there were 49 spaces (back in and pull thru), but they’ve opened even more spaces since we visited.

The pads are concrete (62-100 ft), and you can select from either natural gas or wood burning fire pits. There are also picnic tables and great wifi and cable.

In addition to their Premiere Sites, they also offer Signature Sites that feature outdoor wood-burning fireplaces, on-site hot tub, outdoor television, and stainless gas grill! Signature Sites start at $149.

CAN I BRING MY DOG?

Absolutely! As mentioned above, there is a dog park. If you are staying in the glamping tents like we did, be sure to tell them you have a dog with you. Only two of the tents are pet-friendly.

Pets must be kept on a leash, and you may not leave them unattended. Talk to the staff for more information.

WE DON’T HAVE KIDS. WILL WE STILL LIKE IT?

Absolutely! We brought our kids (12 & 8) and had a great time, and I’m guessing that there are probably more kids that visit during the holidays. BUT…while this is a family-friendly resort I would still venture to say that most people staying here (at least during our visit) were without kiddos.

If I were going to escape with the girls or on a romantic retreat, I’d pick The Ridge without question.

IT’S GETTING COLD OUTSIDE. DOES THE TENT HAVE HEAT?

Yes! The glamping tents include both heating and air conditioning, and they work very well. You will be quite comfortable regardless of the time of year you visit.

HOW EARLY CAN WE CHECK IN?

If you’re in an RV, you can check in to a Premiere Site as early as noon. Tents, Cabins, and Signature Sites require extra cleaning, so check in is at 3pm. Check out for everyone is 11am.

HOW MANY PEOPLE CAN SLEEP IN THE TENT? WHAT ABOUT THE TINY HOUSE?

Tents accommodate 4 people (2 beds) or 6 people (1 bed and 2 bunk beds, each sleeping two people). Be sure to request which option you prefer when you rent your tent.

Tiny home cabins sleep 2 people in a single bed. One cabin does sleep 6.

I NEED CAFFEINE. IS THERE COFFEE?

YES!! There is a coffee pot, coffee mugs, pots and pans, silver and more. Just bring your favorite grinds and creamer.
