Heading to Key West?? With kids (and definitely without!) we highly recommend you book your stay at Key West’s largest pool and coolest vibe – Havana Cabana Key West! We hit this hotel for our South Florida Spring Break vacay and were blown away.
Here are 5 reasons you should make Havana Cabana your Key West accommodation too!
A TASTE OF CUBA
This spectacular hotel is everything you dream a boutique resort in Cuba would be, embracing the local Cuban culture and art scene. There are glorious murals adorning the double stairway, photos of Cuba hung over the desk in our room, and divine art everywhere you turn. My favorite, without question, is the gigantic framed painting behind the front desk, depicting an 80-ish grandma indulging on a stogie.
Don’t miss the make-shift gift shop in the lobby, with Cuban cigars, fedoras, sunglasses, and more. My boys left with a fedora each and a fluffy Havana Cabana beach towel!
It’s 90-miles from Cuba, but it’s the best way to experience the country from Key West!

KEY WEST’S LARGEST POOL
In case you’re not familiar, Key West is a glorious tropical oasis..but it’s not really a “beach town,” so our favorite water escape was the hotel’s beautiful pool area. They boast the largest pool in Key West and I think they could easily tout the “best” outdoor pool, as well.
This escape is lined with palm trees and greenery, and feels like an oasis unto itself. You’ll find giant Jenga, hammocks for relaxing, a hidden hot tub, gigantic wicker lounges and day beds, Foosball, corn hole…and so much more!
It’s also where you’ll find Mojito’s – the Pool Tiki Bar …and Floridita – the food truck serving pool bar food, meals and snacks from morning to evening. Happy Hour is 4pm – 5pm (and look for complimentary churros about 3pm in the lobby.)
In our opinion, the best money-saving option for exploring the city is the Key West Sightseeing Pass. Pick the FLEX Pass, and then select from 7+ different attractions, big and small.
UNIQUE TOUCHES AT HAVANA CABANA KEY WEST
Havana Cabana Key West offers some exciting amenities – I mean, besides that amazing pool! Your resort fee covers free parking, free wifi, seriously large flat screen TVs (who’s staying in their room, though, right?), pool towels, the fitness and business center, and more.
When you’re ready to head into Historic Seaport Harbor, grab the shuttle service. They run from 8am until 10:30pm, with super customer service. After that, grab a cab or an Uber.
Something we love – LOVE – are the bike and Vespa rentals! The scooters are about $55 for 24 hours, and they give you that retro, “Cuban” feel while you’re exploring Duvall Street.
LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION
The hotel’s spot on Roosevelt Blvd is central to everything! It face the gorgeous bay — our room also overlooked the bay – or you can pick a room with a pool view.
You’re only 3 minutes from Mallory Square – super close, but out of the hustle and bustle of the area….and still on US1, close to everything the Florida Keys offers.
Havana Cabana, formerly the Inn at Key West, and can be found at 3420 N Roosevelt Blvd, Key West FL.
