Expect over-the-top decorations, seasonal cocktails, festive food specials, and plenty of photo opportunities at holiday-themed bars all around the city. And don’t dawdle — most of the pageantry disappear after the new year.
THE BLITZEN ROOM AT BILTONG BAR
Ponce City Market and Buckhead Village
DATES: Opening December 2021
Biltong Bar Ponce City Market and Buckhead Village are “Up to Snow Good” as they transform their spaces for the third annual holiday pop-up: The Blitzen Room.
The restaurants will feature swanky, vintage Christmas decor and seasonally themed cocktails from Chartreuse Hot Chocolate to Frozen Egg Nog.
CHURCH STREET VACATION AT THE THIRD DOOR
The Third Door | Marietta Square
BEGINS: December 1, 2021
The Third Door in Marietta Square will transform for the second year in a row into the Church Street Vacation in December, a holiday pop-up that’s themed after National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation.
At this pop-up, you’ll find cocktails like the “I Don’t Know Margo!” (a vodka gimlet made with candy cane cordial), the “Where’s the Tylenol” (a baking spice infused Old Fashioned), and the “Little Full, Lotta Sap” (a hot toddy featuring blended scotch, lemon, honey and pine).
The Third Door is all decked out in holiday decor to make the experience super merry. You may even see Cousin Eddie while you’re there!
CHRISTMAS BARS ATLANTA: MIRACLE ON MONROE
Tapa Tapa | Midtown Promenade
Begins: Nov. 26, 2021
Miracle on Monroe, like years prior, will set up shop at Midtown’s Tapa Tapa and is the classic stop for a jolly good time. The original Atlanta Miracle will run until Dec. 26 (closed on Christmas Day) – open Wednesday through Saturday from 5:00 p.m. until midnight.
Miracle on Monroe does not take reservations and seats guests on a first come, first serve basis. Guests must be 21+ and able to provide proof of full vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test upon entry. Miracle on Monroe will be providing live entertainment on Friday and Saturday nights ranging from Live DJs to holiday drag shows – cover fees will be charged on these nights.
Bon Ton | Midtown
Begins: Nov. 26, 2021
Bon Ton’s Sippin’ Santa, the all-ages tiki twin to Miracle (above), returns to Bon Ton in Midtown. The Christmas-meets-paradise drink menu is the perfect opportunity to indulge for those who prefer their holiday on the beach.
Reservations can be made through Bon Ton. Sippin’ Santa will run through Dec. 30 (closed on Christmas Day) but will be back for an epic New Year’s Eve party on Dec. 31 featuring drinks from Sippin’ Santa and Bon Ton’s regular menu. Guests must be able to provide proof of full vaccination, or a negative COVID-19 test upon entry.
Bon Ton will keep its regular lunch and dinner hours; Sippin’ Santa will start at noon Friday-Sunday and Bon Ton will stay open until 1:00 a.m. Friday and Saturday nights. Bon Ton’s regular drink menu will not be offered during Sippin’ Santa.
NATIONAL LAMPOON’S CHRISTMAS VACATION AT TRUCK AND TAP
Truck and Tap | Duluth

This year, Truck and Tap Duluth will be doing a National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation themed Christmas Bar, starting Dec 4th!
In addition to the fun, holiday-themed bar, Downtown Duluth will be having their annual Christmas Lighting and “Deck the Halls” event, and Truck and Tap will be having an ugly sweater party contest with prizes for the winner and runner up.
MOUNTAIN LODGE POP-UP AT HAMPTON + HUDSON
Hampton + Hudson | Inman Park | Atlanta

This holiday season, Hampton + Hudson, the community bar and restaurant in Atlanta’s Inman Park neighborhood, will host a Mountain Lodge Pop-up to celebrate the most joyful and cozy time of year. The pop-up will be open 6-11 p.m. nightly, and walk-ins are welcome.
Centered around creative cocktails, the pop-up will be located on the restaurant’s mezzanine level and welcome guests to step into the comforting and cozy lodge atmosphere.
Servers will don checkered flannel and merrily serve holiday cocktails like classic Tom & Jerry’s, Tequila Eggnog and Hot Buttered Cider with duck fat caramel. Guests can also get the party going with Rumplemintz and Fernet Menta Shotskis served up on sets of wooden skis. To pair, guests can order fun snacks like tableside s’mores, a limited edition Apple Cider Doughnut from Sublime Doughnuts, classic poutine and a croque madame.
KRINGLE’S AT OVER THE TOP BURGER BAR

Head over to Over the Top Burger Bar in Buford and experience their pop-up bar this year — Kringle’s! This holiday-themed pop-up will have Christmas cocktails, décor & inspired food.
They did a Home Alone themed pop-up last year that was a huge hit, and this year’s theme is guaranteed to be amazing. With live entertainment and decorations galore, this is one you’ve got to see.
The best part? SANTA’S COMING!! Santa will be visiting Dec 5th, 12th & 19th from 3pm to 5pm.
Awesome burgers, yummy milkshakes, and some majorly awesome theming make this a must-do! They’ve got a kids menu too, so your little ones can join in on the fun.
HAPPY WHO-LIDAYS AT MERCANTILE SOCIAL

Joy Cafe is celebrating the most joyful time of year with its first annual Naughty or Nice Holiday Pop-up!
Decked with over-the-top holiday decor and a Christmas tree anchoring the dining room, the restaurant will serve a special holiday cocktail menu with drinks served in festive and cheeky glassware. Cheery servers will don jolly gear, and the restaurant will extend their hours to 1am Tuesday through Saturday for additional merriment.

12 Cocktail Bar at Ponce City Market is celebrating the season with a Mixmas cocktail menu with returning favorite “Sleigh Fuel,” a spiked coffee eggnog made with Old Grand-Dad Bourbon, plus new holiday-inspired cocktails. Reservations are highly recommended and can be made at 12cocktailbar.com.

The Blind Pig Parlour Bar will reopen as The Blind Elf to spread cheer throughout the holiday season! Guests can expect a festive, holiday-themed bar adorned with twinkling lights and holiday decor.
Special themed drinks, both warm and chilly, will be crafted to keep guests in a spirited mood. Light bites will be served alongside the Insta-worthy menu of libations. Open Wednesday-Saturday from 6pm till late. Reservations recommended, but walk-ins are welcome. Bar seating first come, first served.
MIDNIGHT IN THE GARDEN OF GOOD & EVIL

The rooftop bar at Hotel Clermont has been transformed for the winter months into a sultry, Spanish moss draped lair, with one side good, and the other side evil.
If you enjoyed the book by John Berendt based in Savannah, then ramble on over to Ponce de Leon Ave. for a Birds on Bonaventure, a plantation pineapple rum, capari, lime and co-cola delight. Hours are Monday – Friday 5:30 – 12 pm, Saturday 12 to 12 and Sunday 12 – 10 pm.
GETAWAY IN A GLASS
While not exactly a pop up, it’s still worth sharing the Loews Atlanta Getaway in a Glass flavors for those who prefer to sip under the colorful lights of their own tree. Here’s your make-at-home Midtown Gin + Tonic recipe so you can create their iconic drink for your family.
1.5oz Hendrick’s Gin
Top with Q Bottled Tonic
Serve in snifter over crushed ice
Garnish – Rose petals, juniper berries, cucumber ribbons (or thin slices). Fill a snifter with crushed ice. Pour gin into glass. Top with tonic. Place garnish inside and on top of the cocktail to your liking using cocktail tweezers.
