7 Exciting Ways to Celebrate Christmas at Georgia Aquarium

Georgia Aquarium is Atlanta’s most beloved attraction with animal encounters, Dolphin Tales, behind-the-scenes adventures and so much more. Christmas is also a special time at the Aquarium…thousands of lights, festive music and special events with Santa and SCUBA Claus make the holiday events here the perfect place to make lasting memories.

Tree Lighting

10:30am daily; located in the Atrium

Watch the Festival of the SEAson Tree Lighting every morning! Gather around the tree in Georgia Aquarium’s beautiful Atrium and light the lights to carols and holiday favorites, performed by our own Holiday Singers. It’s a new twist on traditional fun!

Symphony of Snow

Enjoy holiday live entertainment experience complete with your favorite songs of the season culminating with the entrance of Santa Claus. Full shows every weekend, caroling daily!

SCUBA Claus

Thursday – Sunday during 12pm and 12:30pm dive shows

The holidays wouldn’t be complete without a visit from our very own underwater Santa, SCUBA Claus! Come face-to-face with Santa as he dons his specially-designed Santa wetsuit and plunges into the Page 4 of 4 world’s largest aquatic habitat, Ocean Voyager Built by The Home Depot. He’ll talk live to guests on the dry side in the Ocean Voyager Theater.

THE POLAR EXPRESS™ 4D Experience

Opens November 17 at The 4D Theater on Level 2

You are invited on an extraordinary 4-D adventure this holiday season on THE POLAR EXPRESS™! When a doubting young boy takes an extraordinary train ride to the North Pole, he embarks on a journey of self discovery that shows him that the wonder of life never fades for those who believe. THE POLAR EXPRESS™ 4-D Experience is based on the inspiring and beloved Caldecott Medal children’s book by Chris Van Allsburg.

Visit with Santa

Select dates, now thru Christmas Eve

Time for a visit and a photograph with Georgia Aquarium’s own seaside St. Nick! Santa is available for kids of all ages during scheduled dates and times in our Atrium, and is waiting to hear what all of Georgia Aquarium’s guests hope for this holiday

Breakfast with Santa

Dec 15, 2018  9am – 11am

Start a holiday tradition by enjoying Breakfast with Santa and whale sharks, manta rays and Tank the sea turtle! Enjoy a delicious breakfast provided by our fantastic chefs at Wolfgang Puck Catering, write a letter to Santa and hand-deliver it, enjoy a holiday craft and spend some quality time with jolly ol’ St. Nick. Bring your camera so you can take a photo with him!

Details: Prices start at $29.95 per person (less for members and children)

  • Advance registration required. Tickets will not be sold at the door.
  • All adults and all children must have a paid ticket to this event to attend.
  • A paid adult must accompany child(ren).
  • Cost does not include Aquarium Admission.
  • Access to Breakfast with Santa via Oceans Ballroom Entrance on first floor of the parking garage ONLY.

Holiday Toddler Time

Dec 3, 2018 10am – 11:30

Take a ‘dip’ into Georgia Aquarium with your toddler, without the time or cost commitment of a General Admission ticket. During this 1.5 hour experience, children will meet and learn about an approachable animal during a special introduction to marine life, enjoy a costumed character appearance, story time, holiday craft activity and a small snack.

Details: $16 ($8 per person) – Member; $13 ($6.50 per person) – Non-Member

  • A paid adult must accompany child(ren).
  • Advance registration required. Tickets will not be sold at the door.
  • All adults and all children must have a paid ticket to this event to attend.
  • Intended for children ages 0-3 years.
  • Cost does not include Aquarium Admission.
  • Access to Toddler Time via Oceans Ballroom Entrance on first floor of the parking garage ONLY.

General aquarium admission is required for all Festival of the SEAson activities. Some activities require a separate activity ticket purchase, noted above. Georgia Aquarium Holiday Hours are the same as regular hours, with the exception of Breakfast with Santa, Toddler Time and other activities where early hours are explicitly stated.
