7 Exciting Ways to Celebrate Christmas at Georgia Aquarium

Georgia Aquarium is Atlanta’s most beloved attraction with animal encounters, Dolphin Tales, behind-the-scenes adventures and so much more. Christmas is also a special time at the Aquarium…thousands of lights, festive music and special events with Santa and SCUBA Claus make the holiday events here the perfect place to make lasting memories.

Here’s your complete Festival of the SEAson lineup!

Tree Lighting

11/29 & 12/7; 8am; located in the Atrium

New this year, people can kick-off the holiday season with our tree lighting. This exclusive event will allow you to not only witness the bright and joyous lights, but also experience the aquarium one hour before the galleries open to the general public. Guests are invited to enjoy hot chocolate and holiday treats, Christmas carols and a penguin waddle.

Symphony of Snow

Enjoy holiday live entertainment experience complete with your favorite songs of the season culminating with the entrance of Santa Claus. Full shows every weekend, caroling daily!

Thursday – Sunday during 12pm and 12:30pm dive shows

The holidays wouldn’t be complete without a visit from our very own underwater Santa, SCUBA Claus! Come face-to-face with Santa as he dons his specially-designed Santa wetsuit and plunges into the world’s largest aquatic habitat, Ocean Voyager Built by The Home Depot. He’ll talk live to guests on the dry side in the Ocean Voyager Theater.

Opens November 23 at The 4D Theater on Level 2

You are invited on an extraordinary 4-D adventure this holiday season on THE POLAR EXPRESS™! When a doubting young boy takes an extraordinary train ride to the North Pole, he embarks on a journey of self discovery that shows him that the wonder of life never fades for those who believe. THE POLAR EXPRESS™ 4-D Experience is based on the inspiring and beloved Caldecott Medal children’s book by Chris Van Allsburg.
