AMAZING RESTAURANTS IN BLAIRSVILLE GA

MOST UNEXPECTED: NANI’S RESTAURANT

Looking for Cuban food, then head to Nani’s Restaurant. You’ll find a fusion between Cuban and Puerto Rican, but with a Spanish twist. Lunch and Dinner are served Tuesday and Wednesday from 11 am until 7 pm and Friday and Saturday from 11 am until 8 pm. They’re closed on Monday, Thursday and Sunday. For lunch, get the Cuban sandwich topped with bread that comes straight from Ybor City. Delish! And on Friday and Saturday nights, ask for the special!

LOCAL’S HANGOUT – HOLE IN THE WALL

Union County’s oldest diner located in the heart of the beautiful downtown Blairsville square. Established in 1931, it has been a restaurant consistently ever since it’s birth.

This is the place we always make time to visit! You’ll want to make it a tradition, too. The food is so good you’ll swear your grandma made this comfort food. Breakfast is served all day – the country-fried steak and eggs are delicious! They have everything here, from fried chicken and sides to breakfast sandwiches. There is something for everyone.

And the kiddo breakfast is less than $5.  Planning a day of hiking on a Saturday? Then you’ll be ready for the prime rib special that night (Fridays, too.)

FOOD WITH A THEME – AVIATOR CAFE

Clouds on the walls and airplanes hanging from the ceiling are great for aero fans. The soups, salads, wraps, and sandwiches are all made with fresh ingredients. They’re open Monday-Saturday: 10 am – 9 pm and Sunday: 10 am – 3 pm, and Saturday & Sunday Brunch is open till 3 pm.

WEEKDAY BREAKFAST – THE SAWMILL PLACE

The Sawmill Place Kitchen Market uses local produce! You can grab lunch here, but we love it for breakfast – a BIG breakfast.  My family loves the made-from-scratch biscuits with gravy, and bacon. Oh – and the baked apples! Go early in the morning or you’ll need to wait – but it will be worth it.

There is also a market here where you can buy local products! The Market is an extension of The Sawmill Place’s Farm to Table concept. The Market features all things local, whether it’s produce harvested locally in Union County, Georgia Grown purveyors, or artisan goods from the Tri-State area.  Honey, Syrups, Jams, Ice Cream, Produce, Hand-made Jewelry, Soy Candles, Goat’s Milk Soap, Beeswax products, Specialty Coffee & Tea, and more.

COFFEE – CABIN COFFEE COMPANY

You can certainly grab more than coffee, but we love this place for a mid-afternoon pick-me-up. You pick your roast – South American, African, Indonesian…and then select your drink of choice. Don’t miss the cold brews, too.

SALAD – G&G BAKERY & CAFE

Donuts, coffee, sandwiches and more…but we love the salads. Taco salad, Reuben salad, Greek salad, Italian salad…and the list goes on. I’m partial to the Oriental salad, and I love a half serving paired with a bowl of soup. Selections change daily – love the chicken noodle.

COUNTRY COOKING – COOK’S COUNTRY KITCHEN

Country fare with a friendly laid back atmosphere! This country kitchen offers real down-home cooking with entrees like: friend chicken and pork chops, pot roast, turkey and dressing. Pair with some of these mouthwatering sides: taters and gravy, green beans, cream corn, fried okra, blackeye peas, mac and cheese and more!

PIZZA – SICILY’S

Open seven days a week, which is a plus – this is a great place for pizza and salads. The locals love it here, too. Be prepared for affordable prices, large servings, and a super-friendly staff.

BBQ – JIM’S SMOKIN’ QUE

This is a great stop for BBQ! We love the PIG-a-NIC family packs that you can take with you on the lake or to your cabin. They’re only open Thurs, Fri and Sat so plan accordingly…and when the weather is cooperating, you can work off those ribs by playing an affordable round of mini golf right on site.

SEAFOOD – MIKE’S SEAFOOD MARKET & GRILL

Forget the white tablecloths and fancy wait staff…counter service here is quick and easy and keeps the prices down on great seafood. Shrimp, fish, hushpuppies…all delicious with hearty portions. Not a seafood lover? No worries – steak and chicken also make the menu here. And for the little picky eaters, there are also chicken tenders on the menu.

ITALIAN – MICHAELEE’S ITALIAN LIFE CAFFE

Gorgeous food with hearty “Italian Grandma” selections…you’re going to love it. Beware, though…you’ll love it even more if you know it’s BYOB. Bring your own bottle for the full Italian experience. There are great chicken, beef and seafood options – just make sure you also get a pasta…nothing can compare to their homemade selections.

LATIN – LALA’S KITCHEN IN THE MOUNTAINS

Featuring dishes from all over Latin America, Lala’s is a world tour for your taste buds!

SWEET TREATS – THE CELLAR

OK – maybe we’re cheating a little. The Cellar is part of Michaelee’s…but it’s in the basement. Try the espresso and desserts, and don’t leave without infused olive oil or balsamic vinegar. Homemade fudge…ice cream…homemade sodas…wow!

FOR YOUNG KIDS – RIB COUNTRY BBQ

Great BBQ for the entire family. Kids four and younger eat free with an adult entree. Tired from a busy day of hiking or exploring? This is a great place for lunch or dinner. Hungry adults may want to try the Feast for Two…pulled pork, beef, half chicken, and ribs, plus sides!
