While you may know Gatlinburg, Tennessee, as a fabulous place to visit for warm-weather and outdoor adventures, did you know it’s an equally amazing place in visit in the winter? With Ober Gatlinburg, a charming downtown and dozens of adventures to enjoy any time of year, it’s got plenty to enjoy during the colder months.
As you’re looking for things to do in Columbia, SC…I encourage you to think BIGGER and consider all that Capital City/Lake Murray Country has to offer. I took the boys on a whirlwind tour of the area, and loved every second we were there. I’m not gonna lie – I was shocked! People in Atlanta don’t regularly discuss a family weekend getaway to this this region…but we’re hoping to change that with our list of what to do, where to eat, and where to sleep.
Looking to explore one of Georgia’s most favored towns, nestled in the lower section of the Appalachian Mountains. Our suggestion? You need a weekend at least – so stay a while in one of these amazing Blue Ridge cabins. Explore the town, hike the trails, catch a few trout…then come back to home base for a glass of local wine, a soak in the hot tub, or some general rest and relaxation.
If you, like us, are a hiking family then you should not hesitate to make your way to Blairsville’s Blood Mountain. It’s not easy…I’ll be honest. But it is rewarding, and one hike the kids won’t stop talking about! Lace up your hiking boots, and dig out those trekking poles. You’ll need them.
