Tailgating at Atlanta United games transforms the match day experience, creating a pre-game atmosphere that unites fans in celebration and anticipation. Here is the must-know information to ensure your Home Depot Backyard tailgating event is as fun as the game itself.

How early can we get there?
Vehicles and fans cannot arrive earlier than 4.5 hours before the event. Careful to arrive before it opens, as police will be monitoring for cars that “stage” in preparation for entry.
Can we just tailgate since we couldn’t get tickets?
Tailgating at The Home Depot Backyard is intended for event day ticket holders only. You’re expected to head into the game 30-minutes before it starts, however up to four people can stay in order to maintain the “security and safety of their equipment.”
If we win, we’ll want to stay and party. Can we?
The tailgate lot closes 2 hours after the event is over (or midnight, whichever comes first.) When the lot closes you must leave, and no cars can stay overnight or they will be towed.
Our RV is small but has a kitchen for making burgers. Can we bring it?
RVs, buses, trailers and oversized vehicles are not allowed. Even if you do not have an oversized car/truck be sure to park correctly in the space. You can be towed if you don’t park correctly or you take up more than one space.
We’re meeting our friends. Can we save a space for them?
Fans that wish to park next to friends must arrive at the parking entrance at the same time i.e., following one another. Parking spots cannot be reserved or saved for family and/or friends arriving at a later time. Fans are not allowed to rope off or reserve large tailgate areas.
We want to make this a REAL party. What can we bring?
- Limit your tailgating to the area directly in front of or behind your vehicle as marked for each space.
- You can bring tailgating equipment such as chairs, tents, propane/ natural gas grills and more, as long as it doesn’t extend beyond your space.
- Alcohol is permitted.
- One 10’ by 10’ shade tent per parking space can be put up on the grass areas and tailgate spaces. It must be weighted down without staking.
- Small portable electric generators (6500W or less) are allowed, but they must have plywood or decking as a base to prevent burning the grass.
- Sound systems playing at a reasonable level.
What do we need to leave at home?
- Charcoal grills are not permitted.
- Single serving glass bottles are prohibited. Glass serving items (like wine bottles) are permitted.
- Just bring food and drinks for your family and friends…. no setting up shop and selling stuff.
- Non-licensed motorized are not permitted. Examples: golf carts, Segways, skateboards, bicycles, scooters, or hover boards.
- Portable PA systems, excessive volume levels of sounds systems, or music with profane lyrics.
