Don’t Gamble? Harrah’s Cherokee Still Makes For an Awesome Summer Vacay

My husband enjoys a little Black Jack or Craps, but I couldn’t win a card game if my life depended on it. Because of that, we rarely overnight at a casino (unless it’s the hotel-of-choice for a conference or something.)

But Harrah’s Cherokee Casino Resort might be the place that changes my mind.

It’s about 3 hours from Atlanta, just south of Great Smoky Mountains National Park. So, besides the hiking and outdoor adventure there, a home base at Harrah’s can include shows, concerts, amazing food, three gorgeous pools, and more.

Summer Concerts 2024

Their 3,000-seat venue showcases box office-breaking acts from around the country, and here’s what you can expect this summer:

  • George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic on May 17 at 9pm
  • Grand Funk Railroad on May 31 at 9pm
  • Chris Botti on June 7 at 9pm
  • Clay Walker on June 22 at 7:30pm
  • The Australian Pink Floyd Show on June 29 at 7:30pm
  • Buddy Guy with Taj Farrant on July 27 at 7:30pm

More Live Music

Harrah’s also offers two other ways to enjoy some tunes. Myst Bar plays live music Thursday to Saturday, 9pm to midnight, in an ultra-modern setting. You can can grab a handcrafted cocktail, settle in at the bar or lounge, and catch the big game or a live musical act.

Additionally, Wicked Weed Brewing features Wicked Karaoke, acoustic performances, and DJ sets throughout the week. Wicked Karaoke happens every Thursday 7pm – 11pm then acoustic performances steal the show Friday and Saturday 6pm – 9pm followed by DJs from 10pm – 1am.

Comedy, anyone?

Hubs and I probably watch more concerts AND more comedy shows that most of America… so for the opportunity to see both in one visit… wow! Here’s the Summer lineup at Comedy Zone, located in the resort’s Selu Garden Café:

  • Dale Jones (May 22 – 26)
  • Shaun Jones (May 15 – 19)
  • Southern Momma (May 28 – June 26)
  • Marc Yaffee (May 30 – June 5)
