Booking popular accommodations at Georgia State Parks just got a whole lot easier for Georgians!

Georgia State Parks and Historic Sites has announced that Georgia residents will now be able to book accommodations 14 months in advance — which is one month earlier than out-of-state visitors.
With more than 14.3 million visitors in 2023, finding an available campsite, cottage, or yurt has become more difficult, so Director Angie Johnson and State Representative Marcus Wiedower worked to find a solution.
“This is a thank you to the residents of Georgia for supporting our local state parks and the staff that work there,” said Director Johnson.
The new booking window has already gone into effect — so you can book Georgia State Parks campsites, yurts, and cottages and cabins all the way to summer of 2025 right now.
“Many Georgians have visited the same state parks with their families for generations,” said DNR Commissioner Walter Rabon. “We want to provide a better opportunity for them to be able to schedule their family reunions and other park adventures.”
And don’t try to cheat…the Georgia resident’s address will be verified at check-in.
Reservations can be made by visiting GaStateParks.org/Reservations or calling 1-800-864-7275.
