2024’s Best Cities for Children’s Playgrounds and Where Georgia Falls

Which cities offer the best spots to take the kids for a fun day on the playground?

A new study compared 430 of the biggest U.S. cities to rank the best and worst for children’s playgrounds — and although quite a few Georgia cities appeared at the top of the rankings, one Georgia city was found at the bottom.

Spring and summer mean lots of time at the playground with your kids — but which U.S. cities are the best for children’s playgrounds?

 LawnStarter has released their rankings for 2024’s Best Cities for Children’s Playgrounds. They compared over 430 of the biggest U.S. cities based on three categories: Number of playgrounds, average visitor ratings, and local crime rate, among 7 total metrics.

So which cities made it to the top? Which are at the bottom? And how did Georgia’s big cities stack up?

Apparently, the northeast knows how to do playgrounds! The Top 10 Best U.S. Cities for Children’s Playgrounds, according to LawnStarter, are…

  2. Cambridge, MA
  3. Somerville, MA
  4. Chicago, IL
  5. San Francisco, CA
  6. New Rochelle, NY
  7. Boston, MA
  8. Waukegan, IL
  9. Quincy, MA
  10. Jersey City, NJ

And now for the worst. These cities were found at the bottom of LawnStarter’s rankings…
