4 Southeast Campgrounds Considered Best in U.S.

Campspot has released their list of the Top 10 Campgrounds in the United States in 2024 — and four of them are right here in the southeast!

Campspot is an online booking platform that allows you to easily find and book campsites, glamping sites, RV resorts and cabins across the U.S. Each year, they release their Campspot Awards so you can see which ones they consider the best of the best.

Their Top 10 Best Campgrounds in the U.S. in 2024 list has been released, and we were thrilled to see four southeastern locations at the top! Each of the southeastern spots are within driving distance of Atlanta, making them all great options for vacations or a weekend getaway.

1. Stonebridge RV Resort (Maggie Valley, NC). This resort has it all! Pools, water playgrounds, an arcade, sports, dog park, and so much more. RV spots and cabins available. Distance from Atlanta: 3 hours

3. Sun Outdoors Myrtle Beach (Myrtle Beach, SC). You’ll find amenities galore at this new RV resort, including a literal water park! They’ve got cottages and RV sites here. Distance from Atlanta: 5.5 hours

4. Ocean Grove RV Resort (St. Augustine, FL). This resort is located close to St. Augustine Beach and the historic downtown. You’ll find a restaurant and bar, bocce ball, basketball court, fishing at their private marsh-side fishing dock, a pool and a hot tub here. Distance from Atlanta: 6 hours
