We love everything about car camping: unplugging, spending time under the stars, eating s’mores to our hearts’ content and exploring together. Our children are now seven and five years old, but we’ve been camping with them for years. As a car camping family, I’m excited to share some tips we’ve learned along the way!
Red Top Mountain State Park in Acworth is known for its amazing location right on Lake Allatoona. This state park — just 35 miles north of Atlanta — is perfect for swimming, boating, water sports, fishing, hiking, and biking. With amazing accommodations, a beautiful lake, and activities galore, this is one Georgia State Park that’s definitely worth a visit!
When I think of Tallulah Gorge State Park in Tallulah Falls located in Rabun County, I think of the spectacular views and that awesome suspension bridge! But there are so many other completely cool things about this state park, too!
Tallulah Gorge is just an amazing place — it’s two miles long, and almost 1,000 feet deep! And one of the things I love most about this place, is that if you don’t feel like hiking all the way down to the bridge or the gorge floor, the views from the more easily-accessible overlooks are just as gorgeous.
