When you think of spirits in Athens, GA, you may be thinking of the liquid variety…but there’s the paranormal variety too.

Athens Haunted History Walking Tours takes guests through the history — and haunts — of the Classic City.

Walk the streets of Athens at dusk with local historian Jeff Clarke, and learn more about the rich history of this college town, as well as about its otherworldly inhabitants. You’ll learn about the ghost of a woman who cries for her lost love, or about the guests who checked into a hotel…but then never checked out. You’ll hear about the ghosts of Colonial Georgia, the Civil War, Prohibition, The Great Depression and the Civil Rights movement.

There are many great stories to tell, and Athens Haunted History Walking Tour has them all.

Athens Haunted History Walking Tours take place Tuesdays – Saturdays beginning at 8pm at The Graduate Hotel on Dougherty Street in downtown Athens. During September, October, and November, tours are offered on a nightly basis. (There aren’t tours on major holidays, during downtown festivals, or evening UGA football home games.)

Each tour lasts approximately 2 hours, and is about 1.8 miles long. Reservations are required, and family members under 10 are FREE.

Have fun and…watch out!
