This GA City Will Pay You Cash (and more) To Move There

You read that right. Columbus, GA is paying relocation fees and more in order to attract remote workers to the city.

What’s the catch?

No catch really. Several US cities, regions, and states offer incentives to attract new residents, often intended to draw in people who have flexible jobs or who can bring a good culture to the city. Other reasons for these incentives include boosting population, attracting skilled workers, or revitalizing rural areas.

Columbus is a fantastic city! The food scene is insane (in a good way), it’s easy to walk or bike, the river is constantly offering fun activities…. it seems like a no-brainer to me.

Requirements

Columbus is currently recruiting remote workers who:

• Are employed full-time and able to relocate while retaining their current position
• Earn at least $75,000 annually from a single income source
• Live at least 75 miles outside the city limits of Columbus at the time of application for the program
• Must relocate primary residence to Muscogee County, GA within 6 months
• In order to be considered by Columbus, you must provide proof of the above eligibility criteria

Incentive

• $5,000 cash for relocation

• 6 months of coworking space at CoWork Columbus

• Annual Community Connection Outing – rafting, ziplining, and a mixer with Columbus locals

• Coffee with the Mayor

• 1 year membership to the Young Professionals Program

• 1 year membership to Fetch Dog Park, a social club for humans and dogs alike!

• 1 year family membership to Columbus Aquatics Center

• 1 year membership to the Greater Columbus Chamber of Commerce
