One of the many reasons we love Atlanta is the abundance of music festivals. We’ve come to find out that not every city is like this.
Even some cities larger that Atlanta just don’t have it together when it comes to festivals. Concerts, sure, but music festivals are a different beast. And one sort of smaller, lower key rock fest we like to check out every year is the Sweetwater Brewing Company 420 Fest.
It doesn’t take the time commitment as Shaky Knees or Music Midtown, but the music is stellar every time.
This year’s 420 Fest takes place on April 20th and 21st at Pullman Yards. It’s not a huge venue like Centennial Olympic park, and that’s a great thing if you get your tickets soon. We’ve seen Beck at the Tabernacle – this might be even better.
The 2024 lineup includes Beck, Slightly Stoopid, Big Gigantic, Black Pumas, Gov’t Mule, and Cory Wong. See here for the full lineup.
Speaking of Slightly Stoopid, our best memory of 420 Fest was in 2016 at Centennial Olympic park where we got insane in the membrane with Cypress Hill. While walking down Spring St I witnessed a gentleman stuck in a sewer drain, feet high in the air above the street, trying desperately to retrieve his phone. I sure hope he got out of there.
While we can’t guarantee this kind of excitement at 420 Fest 2024, we do know it will be tope notch. Tickets are on sale now, and can only be bought for both days. They have three different tiered tickets offering various amenities. Children 7 and under are free.
