Honor the Legendary Hank Aaron at Atlanta History Center

The Atlanta History Center is one of our favorite places to visit and spend quality time. There’s an incredible amount of things to do, and exhibits and activities change with the seasons.

Combine this with my love of baseball, and Atlanta great Hank Aaron, and you can be sure I’ll be visiting again as soon as I can.

The Atlanta History Center has a new exhibit, and baseball fan or not, there are a slew of cultural and historical reasons you’re going to want to take a peak.

More Than Brave – The Life of Henry Aaron is on view now at AHC through September of 2025.

Henry Louis “Hank” Aaron signed with the Atlanta Braves in 1966, when he was already on his way to baseball history. It was with the Braves in 1974 when he broke Babe Ruth’s record and became the new home run champion.

From the AHC, “Our newest exhibition “More Than Brave: The Life of Henry Aaron” tells his story from his roots in Mobile, Alabama to his historic baseball career to the charitable work and organizations he lead later in life. This exhibit, now open until September 2025, features images and artifacts from the collections of the Aaron family, Atlanta History Center, the Atlanta Braves, the National Baseball Hall of Fame, Emory University, Negro Leagues Baseball Museum, and personal collections from throughout the United States.”

I’m excited, because this is not just a room with pictures and captions, but includes bats, uniforms and other memorabilia belonging to the Atlanta great.
