The Atlanta History Center has launched a new experience for kids that makes learning fun!

The Goizueta Children’s Experience is an exciting new 5,000-square-foot space at Atlanta History Center where kids can experience the city through play, exploration and storytelling. The immersive and multi-sensory design will delight children from crawlers (ages 1-3 years old) to second graders (ages 6-8 years old).

Kids can climb through time, take center stage, create, collect, play — and even smell — Atlanta’s history in this hands-on, interactive space.

Each year, Goizueta Children’s Experience will introduce a new theme with exciting new experiences. This year, kids can explore the vibrant Our Great Big City theme, rooted in Atlanta’s history, innovative spirit, distinctive geography, and dynamic arts and culture scene. Visitors will have a chance to have fun while learning about Atlanta’s many landmarks and history.

Some of the awesome exhibits you can find right now include…

  • Time Machine. The Time Machine Climber features a time dial for sensory surprises, explore history-themed games, and an illuminated Dance Party Zone.
  • Mini Fox Theater. The Mini Fox Theater and Mighty Mo Organ create an intimate setting for storytelling and performance, with ambient lighting and velvet drapery.
  • Tiny Toddler Town. Tiny Toddler Town is a cozy area is designed for little explorers (ages 1-3), and offers a safe environment for crawling, playing, and exploration.
  • Creator Hub. The Creator Hub is a vibrant space with hands-on activities perfect for school groups, young learners, and their caregivers.
  • The Varsity’s Silly Scent Station. When kids press dashboard buttons at Varsity’s Silly Scent Station, diner-inspired scents waft from the car vents reminiscent of Atlanta’s iconic drive-ins, like The Varsity.
  • Be a Collector. This interactive area gives tiny curators the ability to create and name their own collection of artifacts relating to Atlanta’s unique history.

The Atlanta History Center has launched a new timed entry into the Goizueta Children’s Experience, so your kids have the chance to play, dance, and learn inside the Children’s Experience, climb the Locomotive, explore the gardens, meet the sheep and goats out on Smith Farm, and more without missing a thing. 

The Goizueta Children’s Experience is included with museum admission.
