Located South of Atlanta, Henry County is dotted with beautiful farms, creeks, rivers and parks. It also has great shopping and restaurants…and fun for everyone in the family. 

ARMY AVIATION HERITAGE FOUNDATION

Take a tour of the helicopter hangar, climb into a Vietnam era Huey or Cobra (or go up in one!) and learn how aviation contributed to the war effort. Museum free; rides additional.

NOAH’S ARK ANIMAL SANCTURARY

Over 100 species of previously abused & neglected animals like lions, bears, monkeys call the Habitat home. Tours also available, like a Paint with Doc (the tiger) session.

PANOLA MTN  STATE PARK

Panola Mountain is a 100-acre pristine granite outcrop. Try archery, bike rental, geocaching, birding and tree-climbing programs. There’s also a lovely, paved bike trail.

ATLANTA MOTOR SPEEDWAY

Visit a NASCAR Cup Series race, or take a track tour with stops at Petty Garden and Victory Lane. Bringing the kids? Thursday Thunder during Summer is affordable and great for the family.

HERITAGE PARK VETERANS MUSEUM

At the park you’ll find play structures, walking trails, historic buildings and more. The fantastic museum showcases military vehicles, uniforms, and artifacts.

SOUTHERN BELLE FARM

This adorable 330-acre farm is a great activity in fall, spring and summer.  Spring is my favorite, when they offer fresh u-pick strawberries along with homemade strawberry ice cream.

M.L. KING SR. HERITAGE TRAIL

The most popular stop along the trail is Floyd Chapel Baptist Church where Rev. Martin Luther King, Sr. worshiped as a child. He was ordained and preached his first sermon here.

BUSHY ART  TAIL TRAIL

Follow the Bushy Tail Art Trail to find tiny squirrel dining spots scattered around Henry County as a public art display - fun for all ages. Tag #BetterExplored in your photos!
