Walk Through a ‘Winter Wonderland’ at Fernbank Museum

Winter Wonderland: Celebrations & Traditions Around the World will return to Fernbank Museum for its 15th season!

Winter Wonderland: Celebrations & Traditions Around the World is a dazzling holiday experience that will span two floors of Fernbank Museum of Natural History, showcasing different decorated trees and display cases that recognize various celebrations, events and cultural traditions from around the world.  

The exhibit will be at Fernbank Museum from November 23, 2024 through January 12, 2025. Winter Wonderland will be open during normal daytime operation, as well as on select evenings during WildWoods: AGLOW! It is included with Museum admission.

Through the use of arts, crafts, symbols and ornamental displays from Atlanta cultural partners, including local community organizations and international consulates, Winter Wonderland tells stories that allow visitors to learn more about the 25 countries represented from across the globe.

Visitors can view Winter Wonderland while they explore the Museum, and they can follow a scavenger hunt that provides images of select items on display for visitors to locate. Whether a handmade doll, straw star, colorful country flag, butterflies, or carved wooden figures, there will be something of interest for all ages.

Additionally, the animated artistic series, 68 Voices, will return to Fernbank this winter. Narrated in 68 Mexican indigenous languages, this illustrated exhibit highlights the cultural treasures and heritage behind the tales of an indigenous community rich in traditions that celebrate diversity. This exhibit can be found on the second floor of the Museum.
