Tellus Science Museum is hosting a week filled with fun activities to make your February Winter Break extra special. From Monday, February 17 through Friday, February 21, 2025, from 10am – 4pm, Tellus will have special guests, fun events, and more.

Monday through Wednesday of Winter Break week, guests will be able to interact with “live” dinosaurs from Prehistoric Nation. Additionally on Monday, the Observatory will be open from Noon – 4pm.

In addition to Prehistoric Nation on Wednesday, make sure to catch a special Lunch + Learn to hear more about the design process with the Prehistoric Nation creators. You’ll hear inspiring stories and discover how they craft the costumes that bring the prehistoric creatures to “life”.

Thursday, kids will enjoy a special visit from Georgia Public Television’s Buddy the Dinosaur from Dinosaur Train! And Friday will wrap up with the Georgia Reptile Society showcasing real reptiles in the Banquet Rooms.

Each day you’ll also find the Tellus Blue Crew on the floor to add to the excitement, a Planetarium Show (tickets required) at 11:30a and 1:45p called Dinosaurs: A Story of Survival, and the Planetarium Show (tickets required) at 12:15p and 3:15p called Dinosaurs: Giants of Patagonia.

All of the special events taking place over winter break are included with Museum Admission and is FREE for members.

Here’s a breakdown of the special events:

  • Monday, Feb. 17: Prehistoric Nation from 10a-4p; Observatory open from 12p-4p
  • Tuesday, Feb. 18: Prehistoric Nation from 10a-4p
  • Wednesday, Feb. 19: Prehistoric Nation from 10a-4p; Lunch + Learn at 12:15p
  • Thursday, Feb. 20: Visit with GPB’s Buddy the Dinosaur
  • Friday, Feb. 21: Georgia Reptile Society
