The Southeast Tourism Society (STS) is a group dedicated to promoting and developing tourism in its member states of Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia and the District of Columbia. In 2023, STS began its Signature Events award program, which recognizes some of the best events in the Southeast.
The Signature Events are events that represent the soul of the South, and if you can make it out to one of them — or all of them — you won’t be sorry!
There are still five Signature Events taking place in 2024, so you have time to check them out! Here are five of the best events coming up…
Perry International Festival
September 23, 2024 | Perry, GA

Dread Hollow
Opens September 2024 | Chattanooga, TN

Georgia National Fair

Welcoming over half a million guests each year, the Georgia National Fair is the largest in the state. This award-winning Fair offers over 100 rides for adults and kids, delicious Fair treats, concerts, animal shows, livestock competitions, educational exhibits, Georgia Grown products, shopping, art, cooking competitions and so much more. As someone who has attended this Fair almost every year since it began, and I can assure you: It’s the best!
Florida International Air Show
November 2-3, 2024 | Punta Gorda, FL
The Florida International Air Show (FIAS) is a multi-day event showcasing nationally known performers and exciting static displays of aircraft and vehicles that takes place in Punta Gorda, Florida. The air show offers opportunities for attendees to learn more about aviation, space and military services. Its mission is to deliver a wholesome family entertainment event celebrating aviation past, present and inspiring the future.
Peace River Botanical & Sculpture Gardens’ Gardens Aglow
December 12-23, 2024 | Punta Gorda, FL
