A Car-Culture Cinema Celebration at Savoy Auto Museum

Ever watch a movie and just ogle over the cars? For me, it was the movie Grease. I love those 1950s wheels.

Savoy Auto Museum has curated a collection of movies that celebrate America’s love of the auto…. and you can bring your family (or your date) to watch at the new Movies at the Museum event every month in 2024!

Executive Director Macra Adair shared, “We took the opportunity to create an immersive experience by pairing movies with select exhibits throughout the year.”

For example, Savoy boasts the actual cars from “Rain Man” (1949 Buick Roadmaster Convertible), “American Graffiti” (1958 Chevrolet Impala), “Vanishing Point” (1970 Dodge Challenger), and “The Great Race” (1965 Leslie Special) during the exhibit, Movie Cars & Cars of the Stars.

And did you know “Need for Speed” was filmed in Bartow County (Cartersville,) where the museum sits?

“Heart Like a Wheel” is about Shirley Mudlowney… and an upcoming exhibit, Women in Motorsports, will feature one of Shirley’s actual vehicles!

That’s not even the best news…

All movies will be included FREE with you general admission ticket!

Come early, tour the museum, grab a bite at the cafe, and settle in to satisfy your need for speed!
