RV Rental: Atlanta Options You’re Sure To Love

Georgia and the entire Southeast were made for exploring. What better way to do that than in an RV Rental? Atlanta…the North Georgia Mountains…the Georgia Coast. It’s an open road, waiting for you to adventure.

RV Rental: Atlanta Options You're Sure To Love

Rental in Atlanta is fun and easy with our partner, Outdoorsy.

Why Rent an RV?

We are huge believers in getting outdoors and exploring with the family, and an RV rental makes that easy!

It’s ideal for roadtripping from destination to destination because you avoid the pain of unpacking and repacking at each destination.

It’s far cheaper than buying a plane ticket for the family. In fact, if you figure food and recreation into the equation, it can even be cheaper than getting a hotel room. (Check out our RV rental pricing post here)

I think what I love is how it freed us up to focus on each other. We made our own schedule, lingered longer at the campfire, made meals at the exact time the minions were hungry.

We were able to bring everything with us that we needed on vacation – not just the elements that fit in our suitcase. And if you have a Fido – all the better! He can come in select camper rentals, too.

It was also more comfortable than a hotel. You know that feeling, when you’re at someone else’s house vs when you’re at your own? Even with a rental, it felt like “home” with more space to be ourselves, spread out, and relax.

It is all peaches and cream? No…there is a learning curve. Something could go wrong (like any road trip.) But overall, I’m sold! Now we just need to keep renting a few more to determine which RV we want to purchase for our own!

Why Outdoorsy?

We prefer to rent our RV in Atlanta from Outdoorsy over other options for a number of reasons.

First, Cruise America was the first place we looked, and chose not to go with them because we did not want to ride across country with their advertising splashed across all our motorhome rentals. It’s hard enough trying to look inconspicuous in an RV….but shouting “we are renting, and we are tourists” was not appealing.

Second, they only rent Class C motorhomes. We get that…they are the most popular rental-types for families. But we also wanted to try our hand with different types of travel trailers (for example, we are taking one to Montana later this year.)

The other RV rental company out there is RVShare. We have not yet dealt with them because we tried Outdoorsy first and really liked it…but a little research told us the following:

  • Both Outdoorsy and RV Share are “peer-to-peer” rental companies, meaning that they work like the AirBnB of RVs. Their tech facilitates the transaction and they add perks like insurance, but you are renting from another RV owner. We like that!
  • One benefit of going with Outdoorsy is their relationship with Liberty Mutual, which allows you greater insurance coverage for a lower price. That’s a win for us!
  • We also love that Atlanta is a primary market for Outdoorsy, so they have a super flexible inventory with a high range of options, prices, camper types, add-on options, and more.
  • Finally, if you check out both companies on the BBB page, you’ll notice that Outdoorsy has a full star higher rating than RV Share.

2018 Sportsman Classic Trailer

RV Rental: Atlanta Options You're Sure To Love
$105 per nightSleeps 6 100 miles day/ $.35 mile overageWeekly/Monthly Discounts

We like this Sportsman Classic because it’s a small-size, but includes 3 pop-outs like this sweet baby is enjoying. That means that the micro footprint sleeps more people, and everyone gets a fantastic view. There is an awning and bike rack, too. Unfortunately there is mileage on this trailer (you’ll find many are unlimited) so you just want to be sure to try this one out at a local campground, like Stone Mountain or Red Top Mountain State Park.

2019 Dutchman Aspen Trail

RV Rental: Atlanta Options You're Sure To Love
$90 per nightSleeps 5 Unlimited MilesWeekly/Monthly Discounts

We are taking this exact tow-behind to Montana on our Northwest road trip. We picked it because of the bunkbeds for the kids, the 3100 lbs (which we can pull with our Highlander easily) and because it comes “turn key” with every piece of RV gear you can imagine.

2019 Gulf Stream Amerilite

RV Rental: Atlanta Options You're Sure To Love
$80 per nightSleeps 4 Unlimited MilesWeekly/Monthly Discounts

We love this Amerilite because, at only 2800 lbs, it is even more light weight than the one we mention above. Despite the featherweight it includes a queen bed and bunkbeds. Plus, you can’t beat that price!

2019 Teardrop Tiny Camper

RV Rental: Atlanta Options You're Sure To Love
$65 per nightSleeps 2 Unlimited MilesWeekly/Monthly Discounts

One of my favorite “date night” getaways is hiking with my man…and staying in this adorable teardrop camper might be the icing on the cake. Play a little music, snuggle on the couch with a good book, and take on “glamping” like you’ve never experienced before.

2016 Coachman Class A

RV Rental: Atlanta Options You're Sure To Love
$238 per nightSleeps 6 100 miles day/ $.35 mile overageWeekly/Monthly Discounts

This Coachman Class A model has a bath and a half, washer & dryer, 4 TV’s, an electric fireplace and so much more. Queen size bed, couch and table can convert to beds to easily sleep 6. Owner is willing to deliver and setup. Fully stocked, includes linens and dishes.

Adventuring in Atlanta

What do you do with a recreational vehicle in Atlanta? Well, you could check out the typical tourist attractions like Georgia Aquarium or World of Coca-Cola Museum…but we love an RV for getting outside and enjoying Mother Nature.

A good place to start is at an RV Resort — or (more affordably) at a one of the great Georgia State Park and Historic Sites or a nearby National Park. You could even head down for our visit to our southern neighbor in an RV — we’ve got 19+ RV Parks in Florida You Should Totally Visit.
