It’s Thursday night. You’ve been playing at the park all day long, and the last thing you want to do is make dinner. I know; I’ve been there. No worries – Tupelo Honey can handle dinner, and save you some dough.
Everyone I talk to knows Tupelo Honey. “Oh yeah, that’s the great place we had brunch in Asheville.” Well guess what! They opened a Georgia location just last year, conveniently on Roswell Rd in Sandy Springs. We love how close it is to Chastain Park and Blue Heron Nature Preserve, making it a great option after a day out with the kids.
Kids Eat Free is offered Monday through Thursday after 4 p.m. with purchase of a regular entrée. Here is a link to the kids’ menu. I recommend making it in before 7pm for this offer so that you can also enjoy Happy Hour, with $3 draft beers, $5 cocktails and 1/2 off bottles of wine.
Our family visited last week and the boys enjoyed the macaroni noodles (with butter and parma) and the cheeseburger with fries. The portion sizes were HUGE, and the boys devoured everything (a rarity in our family.)
If you’re not familiar, Tupelo Honey is known for scratch-made Southern food. Hubs and I started with the Avocado Toast Points, which is a bit of a misnomer because the avocado is delivered on a thick-cut piece of artisan bread….but I did love the red-chili honey drizzle with the farmer’s cheese.
I went for the fried chicken with bee pollen, collards and slaw, while Dan opted for the pork chop steak on a bed of polenta. I also loved the sparking sangria, with brandy and wine and tons of fresh fruit. Yum!
Be sure to check out the patio when you visit, with fans and plenty of seating…even next to the pretty water fountain. There is also a small gift shop area where you can purchase honey, Tupelo Honey cookbooks, t-shirts and more.
Finally, this location just launched a new to-go service for those nights you need help in the kitchen but have to get home!
While you’ll love their Kids Eat Free offering in the evening, breakfast and brunch are the most popular times of day here. Luckily, you can sample their breakfast biscuits even during dinner, as they bring them out to your table while you wait for your meal.
But you don’t even have to wait that long…you can make them at home! Here’s how!!
Disclosure: Thank you to Tupelo Honey for hosting my family and me. Opinions here are all my own. Find this and more Kids Eat Free options here.
