The Microsoft Peachtree Junior is for kids up to age 14, and is free in 2024 for the first time in it’s 38 year history.

The Junior features a series of Mile races for children ages 6-14, a Dash for children 6 and under, and a heptathlon in the Track & Field Zone offering the chance for kids to try out the shot put, mini-hurdles, standing broad jump and more.

Kids complete the mile race on the same finish line on 10th Street in Piedmont Park that adults cross for the Peachtree Road Race the next day.

Other highlights include:

  • A photo op wall, where your child can “pose with the peaches,” stand on the Microsoft Peachtree Junior podium, and commemorate your morning with a fun family photo
  • “Dash” it up! To test their speed against other dashers, Mile participants can make their way to the Meadow after their race to test their speed at 50 meters
  • Mile Awards Ceremony on the main stage for top 3 in each age group (6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14)
