Panola Mountain State Park in Stockbridge is celebrating its 50th Anniversary this year!
Panola Mountain State Park in Stockbridge, located just 15 minutes away from Atlanta, is a recreational haven for visitors. With tree climbing classes, hiking opportunities, bike trails, and more — this is one state park you don’t want to miss.
This year, Panola Mountain State Park is celebrating its 50th Anniversary. Half a century ago, Panola became Georgia’s first Conservation Park — and they’re celebrating with stickers!

For their 50th, Panola Mountain SP is giving away free 50-year anniversary stickers for participating in guided hikes, while supplies last. A ranger-led guided hike is the only way to access the granite mountain, and it’s a great way to learn about its history and the rare plants and animals found here.
Guided hikes at Panola Mountain State Park require registration in advance. Here are some of their upcoming dates…
- Butterfly Walk – September 7
- Sunset Mountain Hike – September 7
- Ecology Hike – September 8
- Daisy Days: Guided Panola Mountain Hike – September 15, 21, 25 and 28
