Calling painters of all skill levels, from absolute beginner to advanced. There’s an outdoor painting educational series coming up, and you’re invited.
The outdoor painting class series takes place at Paradise Garden in Summerville, Georgia, and this actually isn’t just happy little trees. Paradise Garden was the home of famed folk artist Howard Finster, and the beautiful surroundings teeming with his works are where you’ll pick your subject to paint. If you’ve never been, this free public park is a site to behold, even without painting any of it.
“Back again for a second year due to popular demand, join us at Paradise Garden for outdoor guided painting sessions led by Summerville artist and Paradise Garden staff member, Donnie Davis.Upon arrival at each session, registrants will choose the location and subject of their paintings. Donnie will then share his strategy for starting paintings, laying out the composition, and offer guidance throughout. At the end of the series, registrants will have three completed paintings of different perspectives of Howard Finster’s Paradise Garden.”
There are three separate opportunities to attend.
- Saturday, March 30 (1-3 pm ET)
- Saturday, April 27 (1-3 pm ET)
- Saturday, May 25 (1-3 pm ET)
You can attend a drop-in class on any of these dates, or go to all three.
All experience levels are welcome. Registrants are welcome to bring their materials, but acrylic paint, brushes, canvases, and easels will be provided.
