Mandarin Oriental Buckhead is one of the sexiest hotels I’ve ever stayed in. Let me begin by saying that they are very family-friendly, with a number of kiddo amenities that will make your little one as happy as can be. Nevertheless, I was lucky enough to relax, unwind, and let loose without the kids…it was Date Night!
We were greeted at the front with warm cloths to wash our hands, and magnificent pink orchids decorating the entry way. Our room was nothing short of magical. Wood, mirrors, large picture windows, and shades of brown took my breath away.
There were myriad touches that emphasized the opulance of MO Atlanta…mood light settings, extra large TVs, a deep soaking bathtub with auto shades for the window, a gigantic shower with multiple shower heads, a Bose stereo with a connection for the iPhone, plush robes and cozy slippers, and a snack bar fit for a king….
After an evening at King + Duke and Alliance (see our Tuck Everlasting review,) we found ourselves back at the MO Atlanta bar having cocktails and chocolate cake. Both were spectacular, especially in such a charming space.
We went for an evening swim, also. I felt like James Bond heading to the pool, through the spa and down a secret elevator. The heated pool was long and narrow, perfect for lap swimming. Aside from the spa locker rooms, there were also restrooms right off the pool. Large doors opened to a private courtyard in back.
Our stay was relaxing…delightful…amazing. Everything a relaxing escape should be. I’ve dubbed it my favorite city-escape, and hope to return again and again. I recommend you do the same.
