You’ve seen their e-scooters around town, but now you’ll see e-bikes too!

Lime has recently unveiled two new vehicles, and one of them is making its world debut right here in Atlanta.

LimeBike is Lime’s latest e-bike design and it has been built to be more approachable to a wider rider audience. The vehicles are Lime’s latest innovation in its family of shared, affordable, emissions-free vehicles. Lime is currently piloting LimeBike in Atlanta!

The other new vehicle Lime is launching, LimeGlider, is a brand new seated vehicle without pedals. LimeGlider will launch in Seattle, with a pilot in Zurich for both vehicles anticipated in late summer.

Each of the new vehicle options will feature a lower center of gravity and a step-through frame for easier mounting and maneuverability, throttle power for seamless riding, and upgraded on-board technology for a more intuitive experience. Their hope is that the new bikes will make riding even easier for all groups.

“Atlanta is a national leader in sustainable, two-wheeled transportation. We at Lime are embracing the city’s transportation and climate goals by doubling down with major investments in hardware to build on the program’s success. We chose Atlanta as one of the first cities in the world to pilot our throttle e-bike and now the first city to experience LimeBike because it’s a city that advocates for and champions sustainable and alternative transportation.. We are dedicated to improving rider experience and are confident LimeBike will welcome more riders to micromobility” said Carol Antunez, Senior Manager of Government Relations at Lime.

“The Atlanta Department of Transportation is excited for Lime’s newest e-bike launch in the City of Atlanta, as it supports ATLDOT’s commitment to providing sustainable and convenient transportation options for residents and visitors. ATLDOT appreciates Lime’s continued investment in the Atlanta market,” said Ashley Finch, Shared Micromobility Coordinator, City of Atlanta Department of Transportation.

Atlanta residents and visitors took over 1.7 million rides on Lime vehicles in 2023, an increase of 175% compared to 2022. The ridership boom has continued into this year with over 826,000 rides taken in the first 7 months of the year, an increase of 40% compared to the same time frame in 2023.

Since Lime launched in Atlanta in June 2018, nearly 1 million riders have taken over 4 million total rides, traveling 4.6 million miles. Lime riders have shifted an estimated 980,000 car trips to sustainable e-scooter and e-bike trips, saving an estimated 400 metric tons of carbon emissions and 45,000 gallons of gas.
