Calling all budding beekeepers! It’s time to buzz on by the Dunwoody Nature Center for a super fun program.
The Dunwoody Nature Center in Dunwoody, GA, is gearing up once again to dive deep into the world of bees! Their popular Junior Beekeeper program is back on April 27, 2024. This program is designed for kids ages 7 to 14 who are interested in the wonderful world of bees!
During the program, participants will have a chance to put on a bee suit and get into the hives. They’ll also learn about the importance of bees in our ecosystem, and learn about what it takes to become a professional beekeeper.
The program takes place from 9:30am to 1:30pm. The program will include…
- A PowerPoint class
- Smoker Lighting
- Observation Hive Viewing
- Honey Extraction Demo
- Hive Inspection
- They may add a frame assembly or other projects too!
This is a popular program at Dunwoody Nature Center and fills quickly — so make sure you get your spot! The cost is $45 per child. Parents must accompany their children during the program, but adult chaperones are free.
