Immersive experiences can be anything from entering a set-like atmosphere to feel like you’re a part of your favorite television show, to “walking through” and being surrounded by paintings by your favorite artists.

No matter what type of immersive experience you’re looking for, Atlanta, Georgia has become home base to several of these amazingly produced events.

Horizon of Khufu has landed in Atlanta, completely reshaping the immersive experience. Step back into the golden age of ancient Egypt, where you can relive the reign of King Khufu and explore the iconic pyramids from 4500 years ago…

Horizon of Khufu is a fully immersive virtual reality experience that’s located right on the Atlanta BeltLine at Illuminarium Atlanta on Somerset Terrace. For ages 8+. It debuts April 27 and runs through the end of July.

Spray ‘n’ Sip by Studio W.I.P. invites you to learn all the ins and outs of working with spray paint and other elements of graffiti and street art at this interactive workshop. Tap into your creativity and unleash your inner street artist!

Learn the ins and outs of working with spray paint and stencils that your favorite muralists employ. You’ll be able to unleash your inner street artist on your own canvas, with a private instructor helping you along the way.

This experience is BYOB friendly, so feel free to bring your favorite drinks along.

Candlelight Concerts bring the magic of a live, multi-sensory musical experience to awe-inspiring locations. Enjoy musical tributes to artists such as Beyonce or Taylor Swift, or take in a themed concert like their Hip Hop on Strings.

The music is usually performed by a string quartet, and is held at different locations like The Chapel on Sycamore or Magnolia Hall at Piedmont Park. This is a magical and unique way to hear music you know and love.

For a fun and unique night out, consider a visit to the Balloon Museum, happening at Pullman Yards now. Opened in February, the Balloon Museum is full of high flying fun.

Balloon Museum features contemporary art exhibitions with works in which “air” is the distinctive element. You’ll find out-of-scale installations with unexpected shapes. Guests can touch, interact, and take pictures with these fun installations — it’s basically an immersive experience filled with super fun balloon-centric art.

The Balloon Museum will be at Pullman Yards (225 Rogers St NE) in Atlanta now through June 9Tickets are on sale now and range from $29 for a child aged 4-12 on weekdays to $44 for an adult on weekends and holidays. Family packs are also available.

Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience is a brand-new 360º digital art exhibition in Atlanta that invites you to step into the universe of the Dutch genius, Vincent van Gogh. This exhibit is back for a second time and has now re-opened with an entirely new show!

Discover a new way to enjoy the works of Vincent van Gogh, and immerse yourself in the artist’s masterpieces with a 360-degree digital show. Enjoy a one-of-a-kind VR experience that allows you to travel through 8 works and their source of inspiration in “A Day in the Life of the Artist in Arles France.”

You’ll experience digital displays, sound effects, projection mapping, and more. Runs through June 30.

Additionally, on May 18 and June 15, you can find your inner zen at an exciting yoga class while immersing yourself in Van Gogh’s works of art.

The CAMP store in Atlanta is offers an interactive immersive experience that will make you feel like you’ve entered the underwater world of Disney’s The Little Mermaid.

The Little Mermaid x CAMP Experience immerses you in a one-of-a-kind theatrical experience. Families can climb, slide, sing, dance, and play in the world of Disney’s The Little Mermaid.

Explore Triton’s Throne Room, go on a scavenger hunt for Ariel’s treasures, slide through Ursula’s Lair, watch a live mermaid comedy show, and play EVERYWHERE.

If you don’t want to give up the holidays, then Saving Christmas is for you!

Saving Christmas in Atlanta is a holiday-themed escape room mystery where you’ll become Santa’s last hope at bringing Christmas cheer this year. Test your problem-solving skills in this intense mystery where you’ll only have 60 minutes to find the answer. Work alongside your team to try and save the holidays.

This event is perfect for all ages, and is happening every day through July 14 at Time to Escape: The Escape Room Experience.

Make Your Own Sushi is a different type of immersive experience. During this event at  Reverb by Hard Rock, Atlanta, you’ll learn how to spread, layer, tuck and roll your way to sushi heaven. In this fun cooking class, you’ll learn all the skills you need from a professional chef!

Prepare sushi rice, select the right type of fish, and use tasty ingredients such as avocado, mango, and nori. You’ll be making 2 types of sushi rolls: California Roll and Spicy Salmon Roll.

Taste your creations at the end with some delicious beer available for purchase at the venue. This event will be held May 21, June 11, and June 25 at 6:30pm.

Want to feel like you stepped into a real-life video game? Beat the Bomb gives you the chance to do just that!

Beat the Bomb is kind of like an escape room experience…but even more immersive. Beat the Bomb requires all players to work together to win, and if you don’t — you get blasted with paint or foam! (Just so you know…only about 10% of teams actually Beat the Bomb. Ha!)

Choose from 1-hour missions, where you suit up in hazmat gear, dodge lasers, and crack codes to Beat The Bomb. Activate, an indoor, interactive gaming experience fusing technology with physical activity, is now open in Atlanta at Suite A, 4540 Roswell Road. This is a different type of immersive experience. At Activate Atlanta, you’re basically immersed in games.

Made up of high-tech games that test a team or individual’s physical and mental agility across a wide variety of real-life challenges, Activate allows players to choose from hundreds of combinations and difficulty levels, each lasting one to three minutes. From a laser maze to arcade-style basketball hoops, there are a host of rooms for guests to play in, creating a unique experience every single time. RFID wristbands track participants’ scores and progress throughout making it perfect for a casual night out or intense competition.

Activate Atlanta is now open from 10am to 10pm, Sunday-Thursday, and 10am to 11pm, Friday-Saturday. Activate is designed for players ages 10 and up, and is best for groups of at least two players.
