A new type of adventure has entered the Atlanta scene over the past couple of years — the immersive experience. Immersive experiences can be anything from entering a set-like atmosphere to feel like you’re a part of your favorite television show, to “walking through” and being surrounded by paintings by your favorite artists.

No matter what type of immersive experience you’re looking for, Atlanta, Georgia has become home base to several of these amazingly produced events.

Ready to learn more? Here are 10+ amazing immersive experiences in Atlanta that you are sure to love.

You’ll feel like you’ve entered the Upside Down when you visit the Stranger Things Experience at Pullman Yards in Atlanta. Based on the hit Netflix show, the Stranger Things Experience will take you to Hawkins Lab, and includes amazing photo ops and lots of 80’s nostalgia.

Your journey will begin in Hawkins Lab, where you’ll take part in a story-driven interactive adventure and use your powers to save the day alongside Eleven, Dustin, Mike, Lucas, Max, and Will. After all that excitement, the fun is far from over: head on over to Mix-Tape to enjoy a throwback to the 80s in iconic locations such as Scoops Ahoy, Family Video, and the Palace Arcade.

The Stranger Things Experience can be experienced on select dates beginning October 22, 2022. The experience should take about 45 minutes, and is recommended for ages 13+. Children under 5 will not be admitted.

Located at Exhibition Hub at the Atlanta Art Center, Monet: The Immersive Experience allows you to sit and be surrounded by the Impressionist artwork. You’ll experience digital displays, sound effects, projection mapping, and more.

Monet: The Immersive Experience is for all ages, and ages 3 and under are free. Available on select dates beginning October 15, 2022.


Illuminarium Atlanta is the place to go for immersive experiences in Atlanta — for sure! At Illuminarium Atlanta, you can choose from several different experiences, or see more than one.

With fun experiences like SPACE: A Journey To The Moon & Beyond, Waking Wonderland, O’Keeffe, and Wild, you’re sure to find a show here that you’ll love. Here you’ll find 360° immersive audio, in-floor vibrations, scent systems, and more.

SPACE will take you out of this world, and Waking Wonderland will take you down the rabbit hole on a dreamlike journey to Wonderland. O’Keeffe surround you with the wonderful works of artist Georgia O’Keeffe.

With different packages to choose from, including an awesome family pack deal, this is a unique adventure everyone is sure to love.

Looking for a fun date night? Try Illuminarium Atlanta After Dark Experience. On select evenings for adults 21+, the After Dark Experience features admission to both immersive spaces, a DJ on select evenings, and a full bar and small bites available for purchase.

Illuminarium is open everyday except Tuesdays.


Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience has already been to Atlanta before, but it will be returning at a new venue soon.

The experience will re-open its doors in a new venue soon, along with a redesigned Van Gogh show that will be larger, more immersive, and even more colorful. At this immersive experience, you’ll step into a 2-story-tall, 20,000 square foot room and take in the amazing sights of the artist’s most famous works. This amazing light and sound show should not be missed.

The new location is being kept secret, but tickets are already available — so you can check it out as soon as it’s ready!


This one will only be in town for a weekend — so make sure to see it! Beginning on October 7 and continuing until October 9, 2022, Underground Atlanta will welcome Museum of the Moon, an inflatable lunar installation created by renowned UK artist Luke Jerram. The exhibition began its tour in 2016 and has been presented across the country as a fusion of lunar imagery, moonlight and surround sound.

The exhibition at Underground Atlanta will feature lunar-themed sound art installations and dance, DJs, technology-based contemporary art exhibits and more.

Displayed at the fountain plaza and presented by DIGATL, the spherical model of the moon measures seven meters in diameter, features 120dpi detailed NASA imagery of the lunar surface and sits at an approximate scale of 1:500,000 – meaning each centimeter of the internally lit spherical sculpture represents 5km of the moon’s surface.


Also at Underground Atlanta, you’ll find Sleepy Hollow: An Immersive Cocktail Experience. This immersive cocktail experience is based on the legendary Western Woods and it takes place Thursday-Sundays from September 22-Halloween Night in 2022.

During this 90-minute experience you’ll find delicious drinks, explorable sets, hidden nooks, interactive activities, and other unique stimuli that are yours to explore. You’ll meet familiar characters, bartenders, and mysterious residents along the way. A tasting of 3 woodland-inspired, supernatural cocktails and snacks will be served at your table.

The Selfie Museum is a completely different type of immersive experience in Atlanta. At this attraction, you’ll combine brunch with a whole lot of selfies and fun!

You’ll be able to turn your brunch into an photo-friendly experience with the help of colorful, brunch-inspired backdrops. On weekends, you’ll also be able to dance to the music of a live DJ. Sip on bubbly bottomless champagne while taking your photos! It’s guaranteed to be a blast.

Located on 10th Street in Atlanta, children ages 5-17 are permitted with an adult age 25+. Everyone else must be 18+, or 21+ with valid ID to drink alcohol. This experience runs from September to mid-October.


On Nov. 1, 2022, Cumberland Mall will celebrate the opening of a new experience titled The Selfie Studio. The Selfie Studio is family-friendly, free to the public and exclusively at Cumberland Mall until Nov. 14, 2022.

The Selfie Studio at Cumberland Mall is a great place for visitors to take unique pictures, create one-of-a-kind content and make fun memories. It offers five different and creative backdrops made of 8-ft.-tall shipping containers inside which visitors can pose.

Themes include the interior of a train from long ago, an old-school motel, a basketball courtside, a telephone booth, and one where you can stand in the clouds.

Over its two weekends, Nov. 5-6 and Nov. 12-13, a photographer will be available from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. to capture these great photo moments bursting with color.


Candlelight concerts bring the magic of a live, multi-sensory musical experience to awe-inspiring locations. Enjoy musical tributes to artists such as Beyonce and Adele, or take in a themed concert like “Sci-fi and Fantasy” or “A Haunted Evening of Halloween.”

The music is usually performed by a string quartet, and is held at different locations like The Chapel on Sycamore or Magnolia Hall at Piedmont Park. This is a magical and unique way to hear music you know and love.


Ready to feel like you’ve entered Jurassic Park? Then head out to Dinos Alive, and interactive experience that lets you get up close to life-like dinosaurs.

Dinos Alive allows you to walk alongside animated replicas of dinosaurs who roamed the Earth millions of years ago. You’ll come face to face with over 80 specimens of life-sized, moving replicas like T-rex, Stegosaurus, Ankylosaurus, Velociraptors, and more. You can even see Jurassic sea giants in a virtual aquarium.

A visit to Dinos Alive takes approximately an hour, and is for all ages. Dinos Alive is expected to make its return to Atlanta soon, and you can sign up for the waitlist to be the first to know when the details are released.


Experience this 360º digital art exhibition that allows you to step into the world of the Austrian artist Gustav Klimt.

At this experience, you’ll be able to see Klimt’s famous artworks, and also take part in a one-of-a-kind VR experience. You’ll be able to learn more about his life and career, while taking in the beauty of his paintings surrounding you.

Want to feel like you stepped into a real-life video game? Beat the Bomb gives you the chance to do just that!

Beat the Bomb is kind of like an escape room experience…but even more immersive. Beat the Bomb requires all players to work together to win, and if you don’t — you get blasted with paint or foam! (Just so you know…only about 10% of teams actually Beat the Bomb. Ha!)

Choose from 1-hour missions, where you suit up in hazmat gear, dodge lasers, and crack codes to Beat The Bomb. One of their most popular experiences involves having a team of 4 to 6 players suit up and try to advance through a series of five high-tech game rooms to accomplish their mission to Beat the Bomb. Try to disarm the paint bomb…or get blasted! Can you and your crew do it?

You can also enjoy their immersive arcade lounge, and grab drinks and a bite from The Bomb Bar.

This fun experience comes to town in October 2022 and will become a permanent fixture here in the city.


This entry is totally different than the others on our list — but it’s really cool and worth a mention.

The owner of a home in Stone Mountain decorates his home so elaborately each Halloween, it’s become somewhat of an immersive experience itself. What started as a passion project in 2017, has turned into something iconic. The homeowner, Kyle, was able to showcase his artistic talents to the people of Atlanta by creating out-of-this-world art installations for his trick-or-treaters every year.

Drive or walk by the home, known as Monster Mouth, and see the extravagant Halloween decorations. Once you see it, you’ll know how it earned its Monster Mouth title. The decor here has all been handcrafted by the family.

Monster Mouth is located at 1483 Baron Ct., Stone Mountain, GA 30087. The display will be up for the entire month of October in 2022.


Harry Potter: The Exhibition has arrived in Atlanta, and tickets are on sale now! Fans of the Wizarding World can experience this immersive, one-of-a-kind exhibition, celebrating the beloved books, movies, and characters, right in the heart of Atlanta at 200 Peachtree.

This touring exhibition celebrates the iconic moments, characters, settings, and beasts as seen in the Harry Potter film series and the Wizarding World through best-in-class immersive design and technology.
Ticket prices start at $25 for children (under 12) and at $29 for adults. Additionally, FlexTime packages and VIP packages are available for purchase and make great gifts for the upcoming holiday season. The experience will be in Atlanta from October 21, 2022 through early 2023.
