The Home Depot Backyard has released their programming schedule for the 2024 season — and it’s full of more than 200 fun and FREE community programs!

The Home Depot Backyard at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta is a beautiful greenspace that hosts fun community events throughout the year. They’ve just released info for their upcoming 2024 season, and there are so many great events that you’re going to want to put on your calendar!

The 27-week schedule will feature over 200 FREE community programs centered around its three core pillars – Health & Wellness, Arts & Culture, and Inspired Learning – with weekly offerings beginning Monday, May 6 until October, from 6pm to 8:15pm. 

The programming schedule will be anchored by more than 100 weekly Health + Wellness programs featuring an mix of new and returning fitness offerings every Monday and Tuesday.

Here’s what you can expect on Mondays…

  • Maxx Out Fitness with Darrell “DP” Patterson (bi-weekly)
  • Youth Fitness with Lah King of Royal Physique (every week until August)
  • Enervibes Dance Fit, a Zumba-inspired class, led by Taneisha Gordon (bi-monthly)

On Tuesdays, you can enjoy classes like…

  • Royal Physique Bootcamp led by King (bi-weekly)
  • Hip-Hop Yoga featuring HDBY lead yoga instructor Jaime Ratliff (bi-weekly)

Other classes throughout the season include 360 L.I.I.T. (low intensity interval training) and Electrik Athlete Experience. Other classes will be announced throughout the year.

The 2024 slate is highlighted by increased programming in the areas of Inspired Learning and Arts & Culture with over 100 combined offerings throughout the season.

Some of the Inspired Learning programming includes…

  • Family-friendly learning modules and workshops from Brown Toy Box
  • Weekly S.A.F.E. Self Defense classes and martial arts training from Welch Martial Arts Experience
  • Classes led by Atlanta Falcons personnel
  • Outdoor cooking classes led by Chef Justin Robinson
  • Youth soccer clinics hosted by Atlanta United Foundation
  • Bike riding classes with Propel ATL
  • Natural haircare classes
  • Pet-centric programming
  • And more!

Headlining Arts & Culture offerings at the HDBY this season will be community partners Dance Canvas and Sway Art. In addition to dance and art, you’ll also find programming like crochet classes, capoeira, photography classes, and more.

Additionally, The Home Depot Backyard will use every fourth Wednesday each month (subject to change) to introduce new health and wellness programs to the space as well as provide unique offerings that spotlight various initiatives. The first such Wednesday, scheduled for May 22, will be themed around National Mental Health Awareness Month.
