Glow Nights at Georgia Aquarium Brings Bioluminescent Weirdness to Downtown

If your summer plans are starting to feel a little “been there, done that,” the Georgia Aquarium is about to throw you a curveball—one that glows in the dark.

Glow Nights at Georgia Aquarium Brings Bioluminescent Weirdness to Downtown

From May 30 through August 17, the Aquarium is rolling out Glow Nights, a nightly event inspired by the deep sea’s bioluminescent wonders. It starts at 4 p.m., when the atrium gets a glow-up—think neon lights, glowing drinks, temporary tattoos, and photo ops that lean more rave than research lab.

By 5 p.m., the real show begins: aerialists twirling overhead, sway pole performers doing their gravity-defying thing, and a parade of jugglers, balloon whales, and unicyclists roaming the halls like they’ve wandered in from a Cirque du Soleil afterparty.

It’s weird, it’s theatrical, and yes—it’s still a visit to the aquarium. Sharks, otters, and jellyfish are all part of the deal. So are $10 discounts on general admission after 4 p.m., which makes this the rare Atlanta night out that doesn’t require a dinner reservation or a parking prayer.

Glow Nights runs every evening through mid-August and is included with your regular ticket. If you’ve got the Aqua Pass, you can swing through more than once—because let’s be honest: glowing jellyfish don’t really get old.
