Save the Date: Family Friday at the Atlanta Dogwood Festival

The Atlanta Dogwood Festival hosts Family Friday on April 12, 2019, welcoming families with special discounts and programming. 

Family Friday at the Atlanta Dogwood Festival features special family-oriented entertainment, and kids and adults can both have fun with unlimited ride wristband good for all rides and inflatables on Friday only.

Wristband includes:

  • Unlimited access to all rides and inflatables on Friday, April 12
  • 20% discount with select food and beverage vendors
  • Family Friday hours are 2 to 9 p.m.

A limited number of wristbands can be purchased in advance  (at, or tickets may be purchased for a tad more (at the Charles Allen and 10th Street entrance booth). Pre-sale tickets can be redeemed for wristbands at the booth located at the Charles Allen and 10th Street entrance.

The Atlanta Dogwood Festival features a diverse juried fine art Artist Market with more than 260 artists showing works in media including drawing and painting, jewelry, fiber arts, mixed media, sculpture, glass, metal, wood and photography. In 2017, the Artist Market was ranked #8, out of the Top 200 Best Art Shows in the Country by Sunshine Artist Magazine.


Festival Saturday kicks off with the Atlanta Dogwood Festival Mimosa 5K. The run’s delightful course through historic Midtown culminates in a Barefoot Bubbly and OJ celebration in the park. Registration is available in advance only at


The Atlanta Dogwood Festival offers global entertainment on the award-winning International Stage. Welcoming more than 200 performers throughout the weekend from the many communities that make Atlanta a cosmopolitan city, the International Stage is flanked by the Cultural Exchange Pavilions, edutainment booths broadening cultural understanding with fun activities and offerings.


You can upgrade your festival experience at one of the ticketed events held in the VIP Tent overlooking the Main Stage. With Backyard Bites & Brews on Saturday and Sunday afternoon. Ticket holders can kick back, enjoy a beer or cocktail and listen to live music while enjoying the comfort of ample seating and private bathrooms (yes!). Tickets for each event are on sale in advance at and onsite at the VIP tent during the festival, if available.

The Atlanta Dogwood Festival hosts the Atlanta High School Art Exhibition (AHSAE), a juried competition and exhibit providing young artists with the opportunity to compete and exhibit their work. The International Festivals and Events Association has awarded this vital community exhibit with a Gold award for Best Children’s Program two years in a row! The AHSAE is funded by the non-profit Atlanta Dogwood Festival and each year provides area students with valuable scholarships and supplies in addition to the professional-level experience.


The much-visited Kids Village is situated in the Mayor’s Grove close to the children’s playground and a variety of rides can be found in the Piedmont Park Meadow. Children and adults can spend hours having fun, jumping on the inflatables, riding the merry-go-round or perhaps choosing one of the thrill rides.


A festival favorite, the Disc Dog competition in the Meadow draws huge crowds to be amazed by the incredible feats of fur-flying canines.
