Dunwoody’s DoubleTree Offers Reliable Staycation Family Fun

While the thought of traveling to a new city or country is always filled with excitement of adventure and the thrill of the unknown, sometimes packing an overnight bag and heading for a hotel in your own backyard can provide just the kind of break you didn’t know your family was needing!

We were fortunate enough to do just that at the newly updated DoubleTree by Hilton Atlanta Perimeter Dunwoody Hotel and we have five reasons why they should be on your short list of hotels to stay at in the Atlanta area!

Check In Made Easy

When you check in to a hotel with kids who are excited to see their room, explore the halls and take a dip in the pool the last thing you want is a long line to get checked in. The front desk staff at this DoubleTree made our check in seamless, from taking our information to presenting us with our room key and the ever important warm chocolate chip cookies that all guests get upon arrival. Yum.

Stylish Interior

This recently renovated DoubleTree by Hilton Perimeter Dunwoody has rooms that are both comfortable and chic, with beds that call you to them and enough space for a family of four to easily spread out. Each room comes equipped with a big screen tv that is perfect for some movie watching and popcorn eating! The hotel also plays off their Southern charm and reminds you at every turn that you are in a city full of sweet tea, Georgia peaches and Southern kindness, y’all.

Located just Inside The Perimeter (or ITP for those of us in the know), this hotel is minutes away from Perimeter Mall if you feel like shopping, or head in the other direction and you will soon be in Brookhaven and Buckhead, both areas full of good food, good shopping and great people watching! If you feel like venturing further afield you can find yourself at any of Atlanta’s amazing attractions within 20 minutes or so – traffic cooperating of course! Their complimentary shuttle service can take you anywhere within 5 miles as well.

Splashing, Swimming and Sun

If your kids are like ours and could swim all day every day, then you are in luck at this DoubleTree by Hilton, which has a pool just beckoning for swim lovers to jump in. With both aa deep end for confident swimmers and a shallow end for those just learning, along with some sun loungers for parents who don’t feel like getting wet, t’s a great way to burn off energy before dinner.

Dining Delicacies

After a long day there’s nothing better than being able to stay in for a meal that is actually foodie worthy, and the DoubleTree by Hilton Atlanta Perimeter Dunwoody’s Southern Grove restaurant is just that! With a modern twist on traditional Southern food, from chicken and waffles to brisket tater tots, from shrimp and grits to a good old down home meatloaf, if you are craving Southern food you won’t be disappointed!

She was born with a passion for many things, some of them realized, like traveling and writing, some still a work in progress, like photography. Her goal is to not only encourage other parents to travel but to inspire them to show their kids the World, one city at a time. She lives in Atlanta with her British husband and her half British, half American son and daughter, both of whom use more British words than Peppa Pig.
