Most Atlantans have at least one special memory from Atlanta’s Fabulous Fox Theatre. How can you not? As one of the premiere venues for live entertainment, it’s the best place in the city to catch a show.
Although The Fox hosts shows famous shows throughout the year — it’s now famous in its own right. Their weekly Fox Theatre tours take you back in time to the golden era of the movie palace. You can experience ancient Egypt, hear stories about Elvis Presley and the Rolling Stones, and learn more about the “Save the Fox” community restoration campaign from the 1970s.
But those weekly tours aren’t the only tours they offer. Come October, they host special Fox Theater Haunted Tours. Georgia is happy they do.
Are you brave enough to handle one of these spooky events? Maaaaayybe. Let’s find out!

FOX THEATER HAUNTED TOURS
The beautiful theater, with its twinkling stars on the ceiling, is a sight to behold. Taking in the night sky, and the amazing details inside the theater, is truly an awesome experience.
For those who want to take a deeper dive into the theater’s history, the Fox Theatre Ghost Tours offer just that. It’s a great tour, infused with ghost stories and a streak of Halloween-time spookiness.
This year, the tours will be held on select dates from October 17-October 27, 2022. Tickets are on sale now and can be found here.
One of The Fox’s expert guides will lead you through spaces both familiar and foreign — from the lobby and downstairs ladies lounge, to the bowels of the building beneath the stage.
Once a major Civil War site, the home of the Kimball family, then a Shriner hall, and movie theater — The Fox’s storied past means a handful of spirits walk the halls, open doors, cause mischief, and regularly give current Fox employees the creeps. You may even find your own skin covered in goosebumps now and then…
In addition to plenty of ghostly, historic anecdotes, the behind-the-scenes experience is one that will delight true Fox fans. You’ll peruse the dressing rooms of the stars, examine the “retired in place” machinery that once powered the theater, and walk the empty backstage and basement hallways that are a flurry of activity during performances.
The best part? The tour ends with guests stepping center stage to drink in an exclusive view of the theater that is truly priceless. (You can see the Mighty Mo!)
The Fox stipulates that the tour is appropriate for children 10 and older, and no kiddos under six years of age are allowed. Tours last approximately 60 minutes. Standard tickets are $45 and include Marquee Club access. Premium tickets are $60 and include Marquee Club access and two seasonal cocktails, and Platinum tickets are $75, include Marquee Club access, two seasonal cocktails, heavy hor d’oeuvres, and dessert at an exclusive tour stop. Platinum tours are only available at 8, 8:15, and 8:30 p.m.
We highly recommend this tour for those who love theater, history, quintessential Atlanta experiences…and a little Halloween thrill. This is one visit to The Fox you won’t soon forget.
The Fox Theatre is located at 660 Peachtree Street, NE Atlanta, Georgia, 30308.
