For a fun and unique night out, consider a visit to the Balloon Museum, coming to Pullman Yards this month. Opening February 17, 2024, the Balloon Museum will be full of high flying fun.
It’s time to fly high, Atlanta! The Balloon Museum is coming to Atlanta this month, and is bringing tons of fun with it.
So…what is it?
Balloon Museum features contemporary art exhibitions with works in which “air” is the distinctive element. You’ll find out-of-scale installations with unexpected shapes. Guests can touch, interact, and take pictures with these fun installations — it’s basically an immersive experience filled with super fun balloon-centric art.
Play, touch and feel your way through atmospheres with Cyril Lancelin with his monumental, immersive and luminous labyrinth, to Rub Kandy and his zany tribe of GINJOS, the bouncing spheres by Motorefisico and delve into a completely new terrain created by Camilla Falsini with her original colorful graphic creations.
You’ll also be able to land on an extra-terrestrial planet with Filthy Luker’s two artworks — Eye Scream and Octopus Attack. Enjoy the grand bubbles with Evanescent, and so much more.
One of the most popular installations is Hypersteller. Hypersteller is a sensory journey that is meant to challenge your place in the universe. The installation is conceived as a total immersion in a mysterious universe, which is represented by a huge pool of black balls and a ceiling composed of black balloons. There’s also a circular LED screen placed at 360 degrees around the room. Jump in explore the cosmos!
In addition, you’ll discover a space devoted to the history of inflatables, from the first experiments by the Montgolfier brothers in the 18th century to the famous Balloon Dog series by American artist Jeff Koons.
The Balloon Museum will be at Pullman Yards (225 Rogers St NE) in Atlanta from February 17-April 14, 2024. Tickets are on sale now and range from $29 for a child aged 4-12 on weekdays to $44 for an adult on weekends and holidays. Family packs are also available.
The Balloon Museum is child- and pet-friendly. Children 3 and under are FREE, and pets must be on a leash.
