Second Sunday: The High Museum of Art Free Day

On the Second Sunday of each month, the High Museum hosts a day of family fun that includes FREE admission for every member of your family. In addition to taking in all the amazing exhibits within the museum, there are many special activities created for children and families.

The Graduate at Act3 Producations

Ellijay Apple Festival

The Georgia Apple Festival brings two exciting weekends to Ellijay, Georgia every year with hundreds of vendors offering food, art, crafts, and more. There are over 300 vendors with handmade, hand-crafted items, as well as many on-site demonstrations of how selected types of crafts are made. This year promises many new crafts as well as favorites from past festivals. There is a parade and antique car show each year. The antique car show is held at the Civic Center on October 13th. The parade is on October 20th and begins at 10 AM in historic downtown Ellijay.

Prater’s Mill Country Fair

The Prater’s Mill Country Fair (Oct. 13 & 14, 2018) focuses on mountain music, Southern foods, living history exhibits and the handmade crafts and original art of 165 talented artists and artisans. Craft demonstrations include blacksmithing, spinning, quilting, woodcarving and hand tufting, a cottage industry that evolved into the tufted carpet industry centered in Dalton, Ga. Visit the Prater Mill Store for a buffet of southern eats. Or stop by the many food vendors throughout the fair. Enjoy chicken & dumplings, fried pies, tenderloin biscuits and more!

Deep Roots Festival

A long-time favorite of locals, tourists and college students alike, Deep Roots is a lively cultural arts and music festival that brings historic downtown Milledgeville to life like nothing else. It beckons travelers from all over with an antique car show, live entertainment ranging from bluegrass to rock-and-roll, artist market, and a “LittleRoots KidZone.”
