PCM’s 2018 Fourth of July celebration “Fireworks in Fourth Ward” is free and open to the public, and will be held across the street at Historic Fourth Ward Park.
The festival will offer family-friendly activities, bites from local vendors and food trucks, King of Pops, and pours from wine tents, and breweries. The evening will culminate in a grand fireworks show.

Does your child in grade 1-8 need extra reading practice, or would he/she like to spend time helping socialize shelter cats by reading aloud to them? Our Reading to Cats program is designed to help students gain more confidence in their reading skills and to provide enrichment for the cats and kittens. The interaction also teaches kids the importance of empathy, animal welfare, and community service. Each 60-minute reading session can accommodate a maximum of 10 students and one parent or guardian must accompany up to two students. Weekday sessions are great for home-schoolers. We have expanded the number of sessions for June and July. The reading sessions are offered at no charge, but donations are always welcome.

**SUMMER FAMILY FUN!** Mommy & Me Unicorn Set
Bring your blanket and a pal to enjoy a screening of this 90s classic. Before the film begins at sundown, enjoy a performance by Angel White and local praise singers! On Wednesday evenings this summer, Live from Woodruff Park will alternate between live music concerts and free “screen on the green”-style movie screenings that feature a performance component. Expect classics like Dirty Dancing and Sister Act and concerts featuring popular local talent. Live from Woodruff Park is free and open to the community, with beverages available for purchase, thanks to a partnership with neighboring restaurant 55th and Park. Attendees are encouraged to enjoy dinner at one of the park’s neighboring businesses before grabbing a spot on the lawn. This event series is produced in collaboration with Artists Rock the M-I-C, and all concerts will be emceed by Shelley Wynter of The New Talk 106.7 FM.

Campers will be animal experts this week with UNDER THE SEA-themed paintings and other related art activities. They will complete a painting each day on a 16”x20” canvas. We will end our Under the Sea week with an art exhibition on Friday from 12:00-1:00pm, in which parents and family are encouraged to attend. On Friday, the kids take their collection of artwork home.
Camp fee includes all supplies, drinks and snacks each day.

As part of our lesson, we’ll be preparing and canning freshly made PEPPER JELLY from local farm-fresh peppers to take home, and learning the entire process of water-bath canning from start to finish.
This workshop is great for the seasoned canner and beginners.

Join bread-maker and farmer Lori Smith for an evening of hands-on fun as she returns to Farmview Schoolhouse to offer a more advanced bread-making class.
In this evening workshop, you will enjoy learning the technique for making cinnamon bread and cinnamon rolls, using the same basic recipe, but with different preparation processes. You choose between the two for your take-home product, but you will receive recipes and guidance for both preparation techniques.
It’s important to note that in this class, you WILL participate in the dough making process, which will include kneading the dough, and you might want to bring your apron!
Hands-on work required.

The Atlanta Ice Cream Festival was founded in 2010 out of a desire to provide family fun in which the entire community could enjoy.
