Arabia Mountain in Lithonia is home to one of Atlanta’s most unique habitats, making it the perfect place to explore the rich history and ecology that Atlanta has to offer.

The Atlanta Science Festival is hosting a special Nature Navigators event to explore the history of the quarry and to learn more about the unique specimens that call Arabia Mountain home, like the red elf orpine, also known as diamorpha, which shows up (and out!) in the spring.

On Saturday, March 16, the Atlanta Science Festival will explore Arabia Mountain from 10am-1pm. The event is FREE, but you will want to register for it.

During the trip, guests will slowly saunter through the woods, learning more about Arabia Mountain along the way. There will be frequent stops for observations and exploration.

You can find free parking at the base of Arabia Mountain at 3783 Klondike Road, but parking is limited, so get there early to get a spot. This family-friendly event is perfect for kids and adults of all ages, and is a great way to learn more about this awesome spot.
