This December, the Arabia Mountain National Heritage Area (AMNHA) invites visitors to embrace the holiday spirit with a series of festive events, each offering unique ways to experience the area’s natural beauty, culture, and community.
The Arabia Mountain National Heritage Area lies just east of Atlanta off I-20 and is home to amazing natural areas, historic communities, and cultural treasures. The AMNHA includes places like Panola Mountain State Park, the Davidson-Arabia Mountain Nature Preserve, Monastery of the Holy Spirit, and more.
This holiday season, the AMNHA is offerings some great events that you and your family will love. Whether you’re a local or a first-time visitor, the Arabia Mountain National Heritage Area has something for everyone this holiday season. Here’s a list of some of our favorites!
- Lighting of the Arabia Mountain Vineyard (Saturday, November 23, 5:15pm-7:15pm). Join the AMNHA in celebrating the season as they unveil their enchanting Arabia Mountain Vineyard Winter Wonderland, a festive celebration that is sure to ignite your holiday spirit and create lasting memories.
- Hot Cocoa Stroll (December 8, 2-5pm). Cozy up with a cup of hot cocoa as you explore the scenic Davidson–Arabia Mountain Nature Preserve. This leisurely stroll provides a chance to enjoy the crisp winter air and breathtaking views of Arabia Mountain.
- Holiday History Harvest (December 12, 11am-6pm). Step back in time at the Arabia Alliance Office to learn about the area’s rich heritage. This event is perfect for history buffs and curious visitors alike, offering insights into the stories that shaped the region.
- Christmas at the Monastery with the Georgia Boy Choir (December 14, 7-9pm). Bask in the serene atmosphere of the Monastery of the Holy Spirit, where the Georgia Boy Choir will perform classic holiday melodies. This enchanting evening is sure to be a highlight of the season.
- E.M.B.A.R.C. Lantern Festival and Parade (December 14, 5-7pm). Join the community at the E.M.B.A.R.C. Community Youth Farm for a magical lantern festival and parade. This lively celebration brings together people of all ages to share in the joy of light and community.
- Holiday Elf Hike Scavenger Hunt (December 14, 15, 21, 22, 9am-4pm). Embark on a family-friendly adventure at Panola Mountain State Park! Kids will love searching for hidden elves along the trails, making this scavenger hunt a fun holiday outing that blends outdoor exploration with festive cheer.
