Attention Hikers : An Appalachian Trail Love Story to Share With Your Valentine

The real story of the Appalachian Trail is about two lovebirds, Benton and Betty MacKaye, and how the trail itself is a true monument to love in many forms. But no spoilers here…

Rangers at Amicalola Falls will be sharing the heartfelt story on five different occasions throughout February.

On February 9th, 10th, 14th, 16th or 17th meet up with the rangers at Amicalola at the Stone Arch behind the Visitor’s Center at 2PM.

If you can’t make one of these dates you can still stop to see “Love the Appalachian Trail”, an interactive exhibit in the Visitor Center throughout February. The exhibit chronicles the story of Benton and Betty, as well as many other love stories about the AT.

Be sure to check out Friends of Amicalola State Park for other ways to support the park.
