Skip the Burger. Alpharetta is Hosting a Sizzling Steak Showdown This Spring.

This only happens once. Thirty grill masters from across the Southeast. One Saturday in Alpharetta.

The inaugural Peach State Steak Cookoff is happening April 25 at Urban Hardware in downtown Alpharetta — and it’s completely free.

It’s being filmed for the Bama-Q television show. The judges are certified by the Steak Cookoff Association. Some of the nation’s top-ranked steak cooks will be there.

This is not a backyard cookout.

You’re Not Ready for This Level of Grilling

This isn’t just locals showing off their backyard skills.

More than 30 grill masters from across the Southeast will fire up top steak, ribs, and peach- and peanut-inspired creations.

Organized by Bama-Q TV, the event features seasoned cook teams and certified judges from the Steak Cookoff Association.

It’s even being filmed on-site for the Bama-Q television show. You’ll literally be watching some of the nation’s top 10 steak cooks in action.

Learn from the Pitmasters

This isn’t just about watching other people cook. You can actually pick up some skills.

Throughout the day, Bama-Q pro-staffers and B&B Pitmasters are hosting live demonstrations.

At 11:30 a.m., Melvin Graham will showcase his “Grilled Chicken Wings.”

Then at 2:00 p.m., local pitmaster Bruce Johnson will lead a “Backyard Steak” demo.

Both sessions are open to all attendees.

Make a Day of It

You could just grab lunch and head home. OK. But Alpharetta’s culinary scene is worth exploring further.
